Any resolutely authentic approach to short-time description adds to your Bulgari Papillon Chronograph an incredibly distinctive face. The extraordinary design within the multitude of details on its face, along with its actual read-off, endows it with a special style having virtually no relation to customary chronographs. The call center of this excellent formation features the minute's read-off using an innovative mechanical system mounted on a bearing disk. The second hand makes a full 360-degree turn in half an hour and carries two independent lozenge-shaped hands that subsequently move over the 180-degree phase with a graduated scale ranging from double zero to 60 minutes. While one of these, which we'll call Hand B, is set for the semicircular phase with its tip pointing at the units, Hand N remains retracted throughout the disk turning. When the former reaches the 55th minute on the display section, it extends with a progressive quarter-turn to take up its position concurrent to Hand A at the double-zero moment mark. And as soon as the minutes reset from zero, Hand B gradually retracts and remains so for the next 55 minutes.
The complete set of features is powered by the solely manufacture-made Doctor Quality 2319, an integrated Frederic Piguet self-winding chronograph movement with column-wheel and vertical clutch, as well as a unique Daniel Roth complication module. It boasts a 38-hour power reserve and beats at a frequency of 21,600 oscillations per hour (3Hz). This complex movement is finished to superb standards including circular graining on the mainplate and chronograph bridge, as well as Côtes de Genève adorning the rotor of the self-winding mechanism. All the bridges are chamfered and polished, as well as the screw heads. The visible material movement parts are satin-brushed, chamfered, and polished.
The quality is encased in a slightly cambered and extremely comfortable double-ellipse case in rose gold that's water-resistant to 40 meters. A domed anti-glare sapphire crystal protects the split-level dial presented with alternating white-lacquered and black gold satin-brushed surfaces, showcasing the exclusive and attractive original work of the Bulgari Series inspired by Daniel Roth calibers.
This Bulgari Papillon Chronograph design is fitted with an alligator leather strap equipped with a triple-blade rose gold folding clasp.
