Hefei Evening reported that a kindergarten teacher, who had lost all sense of professional ethics, committed an atrocity in the classroom against five young girls. On February 27th, the Mingguang People's Court made a first-instance judgment, sentencing Wang to 10 years imprisonment for child molestation. The defendant, Wang, is 54 years old and was a teacher at a primary school attached kindergarten in Mingguang city. On October 12th, 2011 at 2:20 PM, after drinking alcohol, Wang gave a class to her middle-class kindergarten students and assigned them homework. When five girls, including the 5-year-old Gong, went up to the podium to hand in their homework, Wang hugged each one of them and molested them by kissing them and touching their private parts. After his misdeeds were exposed, Wang turned herself into the police on October 26th and confessed to the crimes. The court ruled that Wang's actions constituted child molestation in public and she should be heavily penalized according to law. As Wang voluntarily surrendered to the police and truthfully confessed to her crime, she could be given a lighter punishment under the law. Thus, the court made the aforementioned ruling.
