Our reporter Wang Sheng - The day before yesterday, a 5-year-old boy wandered alone for dozens of kilometers and was found by the Fengtai police who then returned him home. Only then did his careless parents realize that their child had gone missing.
At 10 PM the night before last, when police officers from the Fengtai勤务 Command Center were patrolling on the west side of the Third Ring Road auxiliary road at Yangqiao, they noticed a boy of about five or six years old walking alone in the heavy traffic. "Whose child is this?" The police quickly approached and led him to the sidewalk. The little boy said he had left home at noon to play, walked further and further away, then got on a bus and lost his way home. Seeing how hungry the child was, the police immediately bought him cookies and drinks from a nearby convenience store. While comforting him, they asked for information such as his parents' names and phone numbers. From bits and pieces of information provided by the child, the police learned that the boy was 5 years old, and his parents worked at a restaurant and lived near the Asian Games Village. The police immediately contacted the local police station and began searching through the limited information obtained. More than an hour later, they finally managed to contact the boy's parents. It was only at this point that the parents, who were working in Beijing, realized that their son, driven by curiosity, had wandered alone for dozens of kilometers and had been missing for nearly a day.
That evening, the police quickly returned the boy to his home. The parents said that they usually finish work at around 11:30 PM, leaving the child alone at home while they are at work. Had it not been for the police finding their child, they might not have realized that their child had gone missing.
