Couple together, couple photos. Upon learning that her husband's life would last at most one more week, Diana Ogle decided to give birth early so that her husband could hold their daughter before he passed away. The daughter lying in her father's arms left the first and last合影of the two together.

Sudden Arrival

Mark Ogle was 52 years old and lived in Colony City, Texas, USA. He had four children with Diana who was 31 years old, and they were expecting their fifth child this year.

On Christmas Eve last year, the doctor told Ogle that he had overcome cancer. While celebrating Christmas as a family, Ogle played the guitar and sang songs; Diana gave gifts to the four children.

However, on January 3rd this year, Ogle experienced difficulty breathing and was hospitalized. The doctors found that eight months of chemotherapy had destroyed his lungs. The diagnosis showed that Ogle's lungs had become fibrotic. Diana told an ABC reporter: "At the time, we thought if he received steroid treatment and oxygen, he could live for a few more years." On January 16th, Diana learned that this kind of treatment wouldn't work and her husband only had one week left to live.

Only One Photo Together

"He was conscious at the time, so initially I didn't believe what the doctor said," Diana recalled, "The next day, his doctor walked into the ward and asked: 'When do you plan to give birth?'"

Despite being two weeks away from her due date, Diana decided to give birth immediately.

On January 18th, Diana underwent labor induction and gave birth to their daughter Savannah. During the delivery process, Ogle lay on the bed beside mother and daughter.

After the baby was born, Ogle lay in bed, wearing an oxygen mask, holding his daughter in his arms, and gazing at her. His wife lay on one side, and their four children stood on the other side, looking at this new member of the family. This was the first and last photo of Ogle and his daughter together. Diana recalled: "He held her for 45 minutes. Both of us cried, nonstop."

The next day, Ogle wanted to hold his daughter again but could only manage it for a minute before becoming too weak. "He was too weak," she said. That day, Ogle fell into a coma.

"Ten-year-old son asked: 'Is Dad sleeping?' I replied: 'No, Dad is in a coma.'"

"He then asked: 'Will Dad die?' I said: 'Yes.' He screamed, and the 8-year-old daughter also began to cry and shout: 'I don't have a dad anymore.'"

The Last Embrace

"When she cried, he would shake his head and sob," Diana recalled. "Every time he fell into a coma, I would place her on him, and his hand would reach out to her."

On January 23rd, surrounded by family, Ogle held his daughter in his arms and passed away in the hospital bed.

"His heartbeat slowed down, and his breathing became weaker. I placed her in his arms, holding his hand until the very last moment."

"When I was pregnant, he would talk to my belly. He couldn't wait to meet his daughter... For Savannah, he would have been an extraordinary father." "Savannah brought a ray of light to our sorrow."
