According to the China Weather Network, Hunan's prolonged rainy (snow) weather has had a certain impact on agriculture. It is predicted that in the next week, the overcast and rainy weather in Hunan will continue. From the 26th to the 27th, there will be sleet in northern Hunan, and at the same time, the temperature will drop significantly.

Since the beginning of January this year, Hunan has experienced more than one and a half months of continuous rainy (snow) weather. The accompanying phases of low temperature, rain, snow, and freezing weather have resulted in less sunlight for crops, delaying their development. Statistical data shows that the winter greenhouse strawberries' production has decreased by more than 20%, and vegetable production has also clearly dropped. Tobacco seedlings are growing generally weaker, with their growth period delayed by 7 to 10 days, which will affect subsequent transplantation.

The Hunan Meteorological Observatory predicts that the province's overcast and rainy weather will continue in the coming week. Around the 26th to the 27th, there will be sleet in northern Hunan, and some mountainous areas will experience freezing conditions. At the same time, temperatures will significantly decrease.

Specific forecast:

From the afternoon of today (the 24th) to the morning of the 25th, the entire province will be cloudy with light rain. Yongzhou, Chenzhou, Hengyang, and southern Zhuzhou will locally have light to moderate rain. This morning, due to the influence of precipitation, the temperature has slightly dropped, but the average minimum temperature remains at 6.1℃.

From the night of the 25th to the 26th, the entire province will be cloudy with light rain in most areas.

On the 27th, northern Hunan will be cloudy with light rain or sleet, while other regions will be cloudy with light rain.

From the 25th to the 27th, the temperature in the province will significantly drop. It is expected that the highest temperature in northern Hunan tomorrow will be 5-7℃, and in other areas 7-9℃. The lowest temperature in northern Hunan tomorrow will be 3-5℃, and in other areas 5-7℃.

Based on the later weather trends, to reduce the impact of disasters, experts suggest strengthening fertilizer and water management to promote rapid spring growth; low-lying areas must clear ditches and drain water to prevent wet damage; when the weather improves, timely ditch drainage and supplementary application of flower bud fertilizer should be carried out for weak seedlings to promote rapid spring growth; preparations for spring planting should also be strengthened. In addition, during overcast and rainy weather, visibility is poor, so please pay attention to safety when traveling. (Ping Tan)
