According to the latest statistical data, from January to September, large-scale industrial enterprises realized a total profit of 4.455 billion yuan, increasing by 54.2%; realized an industrial tax and profit total of 7.993 billion yuan, increasing by 54.8%; the comprehensive index of industrial economic benefits of large-scale enterprises reached 245.76, rising by 55.36 points.

In the next three years, our city clearly proposed that the total output value and added value of large-scale industries in the whole city would reach 300 billion yuan and over 100 billion yuan respectively, building a strong western industrial city with relatively strong comprehensive competitiveness.

Foxconn Builds Up Mianyang's Trillion-level Information Industry

During the twelfth Western China International Fair (WCIF), Mianyang, Changhong Group and Foxconn Group officially signed the cooperation agreement for the Mianyang smartphone project.

According to the agreement, the total investment in the Mianyang smartphone project is 500 million US dollars. After the completion of the project, it will form an annual production capacity of 50 million smartphones and smart mobile terminals, with an annual output value of 50 billion RMB yuan and nearly 4 billion RMB yuan in annual tax and profit.

In December last year, Party Secretary Liu Qibao, Governor Jiang Jufeng, and Foxconn Group President Terry Gou reached a consensus on the 66 Special Projects, which means using six years to form a 600 billion yuan output value in Sichuan by Foxconn, with a considerable share laid out in Mianyang.

On May 8th this year, when Premier Wen Jiabao visited Mianyang, the main leaders of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government specially reported on the cooperation between Changhong and Foxconn and requested support from the State Council, receiving recognition from Premier Wen Jiabao.

The Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government listed the cooperation between Foxconn and Changhong as the No.1 project, mobilizing the entire city's efforts to accelerate its advancement. The main leaders of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government held meetings, discussions, consultations, and special conferences with Foxconn in various places such as Mianyang, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Taipei.

It was precisely due to the high attention from all parties and the high-level promotion by national, provincial, and municipal leaders that there was the cooperation between Changhong and Foxconn, leading to the signing of a series of strategic cooperation framework agreements between the Municipal Government and Changhong Group and Foxconn Group on March 29th this year, and also resulting in the formal signing of a major deal at this WCIF.

Currently, the Mianyang smartphone project has landed in the Economic Development Zone, designed according to an initial capacity of 30 million smartphones, initially planning the construction of 60,000 square meters of standard factory space needed for a 10 million smartphone capacity. Employee housing is designed according to the scale of accommodating 20,000 employees, with a total construction area of 2.2 million square meters.

By the end of 2009, after acquiring Xiaxin Mobile Phones, Jiuzhou Group strengthened Mianyang, the National Digital Audio-Visual Industry Base. By 2015, Mianyang's triple network convergence industry revenue will exceed 100 billion yuan.

Mianyang-Anguo-North Auto Industry Sets Sail

In recent years, Mianyang-made cars have frequently appeared on major domestic and provincial automobile stages. Behind a series of strong moves, a car era belonging to Mianyang is rapidly moving towards the future.

Currently, along the Mianxing Road and Mianyang-An'guo-North Industrial Belt, major projects such as Huari (Xin) Automobiles, Fulinhua New Energy Vehicles, Xinchén Engines, Xinhua Gearboxes, and China National Heavy Duty Truck Corporation are poised to develop, targeting an annual production of 500,000 vehicles, 500,000 engines, and 500,000 gearboxes, aiming for an annual industrial output value of 30-40 billion yuan.

In April 2009, under the facilitation of Liaoning Province, the Huachen Automobile and engine parts project settled in Anguo County, with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan. Soon, relying on this largest counterpart cooperation industrial project, Anguo County attracted a large number of automobile parts enterprises to settle in the park.

At Mianyang Wanxin Auto Parts Factory, the company's responsible person said that the company is built in two phases. Currently, the first phase has been completed, and the second phase will be finished next year. At that time, it will be able to produce 20,000 camshafts annually, achieving an output value of 1 billion yuan.

In addition, a number of auto parts companies have also settled in the Liao'an Industrial Park, currently constructing factories. To date, the Liao'an Industrial Park has basically formed the ability to produce complete vehicles and auto parts, with a complete industrial chain quickly forming.

Last year, Mianyang produced and sold 51,000 complete vehicles and 224,000 engines. Large-scale enterprises in the automobile and parts industry achieved an industrial output value of 7.159 billion yuan, increasing by 60% compared to the previous year. According to the plan, by 2015, Mianyang will add one national-level enterprise technology center and 3-5 provincial-level enterprise technology centers, make significant progress in electric vehicle research and development, and ensure that more than 90% of automobile and parts enterprises adopt international standards for design and manufacturing.
