China National Radio, Beijing, February 22nd - According to the "News纵横" program of China Radio Voice, with the approach of cold air and the enhancement of warm moist air flow, there have been changes in rainy and snowy weather. By this morning, heavy to severe snowfall has occurred in the western part of Xinjiang and along the Tianshan Mountains. Thunderstorms have appeared in northern Guizhou and northern Jiangnan. The 10-day weather forecast indicates that today, the scope of rain and snow will continue to expand. Generally, small to moderate snowfall will occur in the western and northern parts of Xinjiang, southeastern Inner Mongolia, and Northeast China. Parts of central-eastern Jilin will experience heavy snow. Harbin, Changchun, and Shenyang will all see snowfall today, especially Changchun and Shenyang, which may experience heavy snow.

At the same time, with the strengthening of warm moist air flow, the intensity of southern rainfall has significantly increased. From southern Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang to Jiangxi and eastern Hunan, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected. Due to the participation of cold air and the previous continuous temperature rise, these areas with strong rainfall will be accompanied by thunder and lightning. Hefei will hear its first thunder of the year today. The impact of cold air on the south remains relatively weak, and temperatures will not fluctuate greatly. The highest temperatures in the Huai-Jiang and Jiangnan regions can generally remain above 10 degrees or even 15 degrees Celsius, as seen in Hangzhou, Changsha, and Shanghai.

Currently, the cold air affecting the western part of Xinjiang will continue to move eastward and southward today. Subsequently, another cold air mass will affect our country. It is expected that from today until the end of the month, rainy and snowy weather will be frequent in the central and eastern parts of our country.

Tomorrow, the range of rain and snow in the central and eastern regions will significantly expand. Snowfall, mainly light to moderate snow or sleet, will occur from the eastern part of the northwestern region to the western part of North China and the western part of the Huaihai region. Large-scale rainfall will occur from southern Shaanxi and Henan to Guangdong and Guangxi. In addition, snowfall in Xinjiang will continue but with reduced intensity. Most parts of Northeast China will experience clear skies after the snow, followed by windy and cooling weather. (Weather analyst: Chen Qinghao)
