Fortunately, these large-value bills were found by conscientious employees at Guangzhou Metro’s Linhexi Station, and they were returned in full to the owner within an hour.
According to the contact information provided by the service counter, Linhexi Station successfully contacted the owner, Miss Zhang, who confirmed that the lost items belonged to her. At 23:05, a very anxious Miss Zhang rushed to claim her lost property. Holding the file bag and its contents, she tightly grasped the hand of Wang Zhenrui and said: "This file bag is extremely important! You are such good people! When I learned that it was you, the metro staff, who found the file bag, my heart was put at ease. Thank you so much!" Miss Zhang also requested to take a commemorative photo with the employees.
The incident occurred at around 21:50 on January 17th when Wang Zhenrui, the duty station master at Linhexi Metro Station, noticed a file bag lying on the platform during his routine inspection. After picking up the file bag, he waited for some time but no one came to claim it. Therefore, Wang Zhenrui took the file bag back to the station and inventoried it together with another employee. To their surprise, the file bag contained multiple checks and business entrustment letters (all stamped with the company's financial seal and authorized signature), with the total amount of the checks reaching over 90 million yuan. Additionally, there were copies of the company's business license and ID cards inside.
Considering the huge amount involved, Wang Zhenrui repeatedly sought the owner through announcements at all stations along the line and within the station. However, after more than ten minutes, there was still no news from the owner. Around 22:05, another employee suggested calling 114 to inquire about the company's phone number, but 114 replied that the company's contact information was confidential and could not be disclosed. Just as everyone was at a loss, at 22:20, the metro service desk called Linhexi Station, stating that a Miss Zhang had lost a file bag containing very important documents and tickets of enormous value.
