The 15-year-old Lan from Lintong (a pseudonym) was deceived by her male online friend to northern Shaanxi to be his wife. She could not remember how many times she had been humiliated during the four months. Living in cave dwellings, eating cabbage, and being taken everywhere to work by the suspect, Lan finally managed to take her suspect's coworker’s mobile phone and send a rescue text message to her father and was ultimately saved.
"This humiliating experience has changed my life. I advise my friends and peers to stay with their parents and not easily go out to meet netizens..." said the victim Lan.
On November 20th last year
Lost Daughter
Said she was going to a classmate's house to do homework, never returned
According to the police officer of Lintong Branch of Xi'an Public Security Bureau yesterday morning, on December 14th last year, a villager from Lintong reported that his second daughter Lan disappeared on November 20th and never returned, nor went to school, and might have been abducted.
According to the reporter Wu Liu (a pseudonym), his second daughter Lan is a third-year junior high school student in Lintong. On November 20th, Lan told her mother that she was going to a classmate's house to do homework, and then disappeared. Until November 22nd, the teacher called and said that Lan did not go to school, and the parents were alarmed. After more than 20 days of searching without result, they reported for help.
More than ten days after the incident
Strange Mobile Phone
Sent a text message: Mom, I'm safe
More than ten days after the incident, a strange mobile phone number sent a text message to Lan's mother's mobile phone: "Mom, don't look for me anymore, I'm safe." Afterwards, the strange mobile phone number showed as off.
After investigation by the police, they obtained a piece of information: before Lan disappeared, she frequently contacted a male online friend with the nickname "Seagull Flying" through mobile QQ. After the incident, "Seagull Flying"'s mobile phone showed as off, and there was no call record. Upon checking, it was found that the person who registered this mobile phone card used a fake ID, making it impossible to investigate. However, the text message received by Lan's mother was sent from "Seagull Flying"'s mobile phone. The police speculated that this was a case of abduction or even trafficking.
In December last year
Police Investigation
Assembled data of four to five thousand people, did not find the suspect
Upon inquiry, it was learned that "Seagull Flying"'s mobile phone had close contact with another mobile phone number. In December last year, the police found the holder of this mobile phone number, who was a local brick factory boss named Long. Long said that "Seagull Flying" was a kiln worker who had worked in his brick factory, named "Gao Wenbo". It was understood that "Gao Wenbo" was over 30 years old. Two days before the incident, he left Ganquan and rushed to Lintong. After the incident, "Gao Wenbo" called Long and said that he had found a "wife" in Xi'an Lintong.
The police went to Ziyang County, Zhidan County, and other places - the suspect's hometown, but the local police station could not find any information about "Gao Wenbo". The police gathered all the people aged between 16 to 45 in Ziyang County, around four to five thousand people, and had Long and others identify them, but did not find "Gao Wenbo".
March 25th
Rescue Text Message
"Dad, I am in a brickyard in Danba..."
"Dad, it's me. I am in a brickyard in Danba, the boss is... Don't call back or send messages, otherwise I will be in trouble." At 6 PM on March 25th, Wu Liu, Lan's father, received such a text message on his mobile phone. The police confirmed from the Yan'an police that the owner of the mobile phone that sent the text message to Wu Liu's mobile phone was in Zhidan.
The police drove overnight to find Danba Town in Zhidan County. The police disguised themselves as buyers looking for bricks and searched seven brick factories, but did not find Lan. Subsequently, the police gathered the bosses of the seven brick factories in Danba Town and asked them to identify Lan. One of them recognized that Lan and a man were in his brick factory.
At noon on March 27th, the police brought Lan's father into the dormitory of the brick factory. Lan immediately hugged her father. The suspect "Seagull Flying" was also subdued by the police while working.
Upon investigation, it was found that "Seagull Flying" was originally named Gao XX, 31 years old, from Zhiyang County in Anse County. He did not have a photo on the public security information network, so when identifying "Gao Wenbo", the suspect was not found. The rescue text message on Wu Liu's mobile phone was sent by Lan using her coworker's mobile phone when Gao XX was not there.
Attention
How did she endure these four months?
Yesterday morning, the reporter met Lan: dressed in pink sportswear, sneakers, obviously still a naive girl.
Lan said that two months before the incident, she applied for mobile QQ function with the mobile phone given by her sister. Through mobile QQ, she met a male online friend with the nickname "Seagull Flying". He claimed to be in his early twenties, doing business with his parents in Yan'an, and sent a handsome boy's photo to Lan. After chatting online for two months, they agreed to meet in Xi'an.
On November 20th last year, Lan took more than 30 yuan to rush to Xi'an train station. When she saw the real "Seagull Flying", Lan saw that he was not the person online, so she wanted to go home. Gao XX, 16 years older than Lan, stopped a taxi, rushed to the West Tong highway exit, and forcibly took Lan onto a bus to Luochuan. That night, they arrived in Luochuan. Gao XX checked into a hotel room and forcibly had sexual intercourse with Lan.
The next day, Gao XX took Lan to Yan'an to borrow money from relatives. They got on a bus to Inner Mongolia. Lan shouted on the bus: "He is a human trafficker, save me!" The passengers on the bus did not react, and Gao XX quickly pulled Lan off the bus.
Gao XX took Lan to start walking, deliberately choosing remote mountain roads, from Luochuan to Fuxian, then from Fuxian to Ganquan. For four or five days, they stayed in abandoned cave dwellings along the way.
When they reached Zhidang County in Anse County, Gao XX took Lan to live in a cave dwelling. More than ten days after the incident, Gao XX forced Lan to send a text message to her mother, and then burned both his own and Lan's mobile phone cards.
Around the Spring Festival, Lan was confined in a cave dwelling without electricity, eating cabbage every day, and suffering from Gao XX's abuse at night.
At the beginning of this month, Gao XX took Lan to work everywhere. On March 25th, Lan found a mobile phone on a wooden bed in the brick factory dormitory, which belonged to Gao XX's coworker. Lan grabbed the phone and ran to the toilet, sending a text message to her father. Worried that her father wouldn't hear, she also dialed the number and hung up quickly after hearing the beep. Then she deleted the text message and call records and anxiously waited in the dormitory.
Father of the Victim Girl:
"My daughter has suffered injustice outside"
Yesterday afternoon, Lan's eyes were filled with tears, her voice trembling as she said: "I don't want to go to school anymore."
Sitting beside her, her father Wu Liu kept stroking his face and said: "My daughter has suffered injustice outside. I will let my child rest at home first, and open a clothing store for her... As long as my child lives well, whether or not she studies is secondary, and I am willing to pay whatever it takes."
Suspect:
Just wanted to deceive her to northern Shaanxi to be his wife
Yesterday afternoon, in the detention center of Lintong District, the reporter met Gao XX, 31 years old. Gao XX admitted that coming to Xi'an to meet the female netizen Lan was just to deceive her to northern Shaanxi to be his wife. And burning Lan's and his own mobile phone cards was because "I am already married, there is no need to contact anyone else."
The investigating officer introduced that in this case, Gao XX's actions were suspected of three charges: abduction, illegal detention, and rape.
Police Reminder
Girls meeting netizens should be cautious
Yesterday afternoon, the criminal investigation team of Lintong Branch reminded minors, especially girls, through our newspaper, that the best method is not to meet netizens until their real identity is confirmed.
Even if you want to meet a netizen, do not leave your familiar environment if you cannot confirm their true identity. Another possibility is that if a local male netizen comes to meet, do not agree to meet for the first time in a bar or a remote scenic spot, and do not meet at night. Finally, girls should preferably meet netizens accompanied by friends. If not, at least ensure that a good friend knows the time and place of meeting the netizen, and knows the information about the netizen they are meeting.
