Uniqlo Brand
The Uniqlo brand hopes to establish a firm foothold in the fashion industry through a series of innovative initiatives. Next month, it will open three large stores in the United States and the United Kingdom, offering a diverse range of clothing including basic styles, classic designs, and exaggerated materials. The brand's latest weapon is the Uniqlo Innovation Project, abbreviated as IPJ, which features a high-quality collection co-designed by the brand’s Fashion Director Nicola Formichetti, Design Director Naoki Takazawa, and Creative Director Kashiwa Sato.
Mr. Nobuo Domae, Vice President of the brand, said: "Everyone focuses on styling and trends, but we emphasize quality and functionality. We respect each individual's personal style and provide clothing that helps everyone pursue their unique personal style. We are always customer-centric."
The IPJ collection went on sale at Uniqlo stores over the weekend, featuring items such as trench coats, jackets, and UV-protective T-shirts. The London store spans 1,500 square feet and will open on October 13th. A week later, on October 21st, the brand's second-largest store will open on 34th Street in Manhattan, covering 64,000 square feet. The flagship store on Fifth Avenue was collaboratively built with the architectural firm Wonderwall and incorporates over 300 LCD screens.
In the coming period, Uniqlo will continue its expansion process, aiming first to establish a presence in major cities before moving into secondary cities. Soon, large Uniqlo stores will be seen in places like Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. In addition, the brand will target Asia, particularly the Chinese market, planning to open 200-300 stores in China.
Uniqlo will also continue to launch collaborations with designers. Orla Kiely will design a collection for Uniqlo, which will be launched in March via the Uniqlo Taobao flagship store. Jun Takahashi, designer of Undercover, will also join the ranks of designers collaborating with Uniqlo.
