Late rice Yangmei; produced in Gaoxie, Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province. This variety has a cultivation history of over 140 years to date. It matures in early July and is one of the best quality late rice varieties currently available. The average fruit weight is 12g, with 11.1% soluble solids content and 96% edibility. It is rich in aroma and is an excellent variety for both fresh consumption and processing. It has a well-developed root system with strong absorption capacity, is tolerant of poor soil conditions, and has good yield potential like Yuyao Yangmei. However, it has relatively weak resistance to Yangmei cancer disease, so strict quarantine should be conducted on seedlings during introduction.
