Southern Daily News (Reported by Guo Wenjun, Correspondent Qi Gongxuan) - A female foot massage therapist was murdered by her boyfriend and a coworker. Not only were all the funds in her account withdrawn, but her body was also dumped in a fish pond. Recently, the Qishi Public Security Bureau swiftly solved this homicide case, arresting two suspects: Wang Xiang (female, 23 years old, from Zhenba County, Shaanxi Province) and Li Bo (male, 25 years old, from Luoyang City, Henan Province).
At around 17:00 on January 3, 2012, officers at the duty room of the Qishi Public Security Bureau received a report stating that a female corpse had been found in a fish pond in front of the Tiegang Village Committee in Qishi Town. After receiving the report, the bureau leadership took it very seriously, with Party Committee member and Public Security Bureau Director Huang Weiwen and other leaders rushing to the scene to guide the investigation work. They immediately formed a special task force composed of elite police forces from the criminal investigation team and the police station to fully investigate the case.
After an on-site investigation, it was determined that the deceased was a woman about 30 years old with a white mobile phone on her person. The forensic doctor identified the cause of death as homicide due to mechanical asphyxiation. Through extensive investigations, the task force eventually identified the deceased as Wang (female, 32 years old, from Nan County, Hunan Province), who worked as a foot massage therapist at the Hong Hotel Foot Spa in Qiaotou Town.
The task force quickly discovered that Wang's coworker Wang Xiang and her boyfriend Li Bo had returned to their hometown in Henan Province after the incident, raising significant suspicion regarding their whereabouts. By reviewing surveillance footage from their rented residence and checking the withdrawal records from Wang’s bank account, the police soon determined that Wang Xiang and Li Bo were major suspects in the case. They also identified the first crime scene as the rental apartment where Wang Xiang lived.
The task force quickly established that the two suspects had fled first to Luoyang City, Henan Province, and then went into hiding in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. On January 5, 2012, the task force traveled to Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, to pursue them. On the evening of January 6, the police successfully arrested both suspects, Wang Xiang and Li Bo, in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province.
Upon interrogation, they confessed to killing the victim Wang by suffocating her with a blanket inside the rental apartment where Wang Xiang lived on the morning of December 29, 2011. They withdrew over 20,000 yuan from Wang’s bank account and subsequently discarded her body in a fish pond in front of the Tiegang Village Committee in Qishi Town.
