Hello everyone, I am a new seller who just opened a store in June. I'm here to learn from the experts, so please give me some advice. Taobao online shop for rent! Taobao customers account for 1% of total traffic. The quality of this traffic is slightly worse than the previous two because some external sites are for external promotion, and once a deal is made, it costs money. So, maintaining the existing ratio is fine.
In-site search accounts for 4.29% of total traffic. This traffic is as good as the traffic brought by直通车 (Taobao's pay-per-click marketing tool), and it's free. The larger the proportion, the better. I am working hard to increase this proportion. As the popularity of my items increases, I believe this proportion will naturally increase.
Similar or identical items should be combined as much as possible. First, fewer items are easier to manage, and more effort can be spent on each item since our energy is limited. Second, after merging, all the popularity is concentrated on one item, which helps to increase the item's popularity and improve its natural ranking. Third, reduce the average promotion cost per item. Spending 1 yuan to let consumers see your merged items is equivalent to letting them see all your similar items. Fourth, accumulate sales on one item, making it easier to create a bestseller!
Below, I will share my sales experience with everyone. Esteemed seniors, please don't laugh at my humble efforts!
The ultimate goal: Everyone knows that getting the first diamond is the hardest part, but many smart sellers still manage to upgrade within a month or two. How do they achieve this?
Provide good service. Out of 100 views, only a few may consult you. If they abandon the purchase due to your service, you can calculate the loss yourself. According to直通车 calculation, if there is one consultation out of every 20 views, brushing credibility costs 80 cents per click, which equals 16 yuan! Plus the lost profit from the buyer not purchasing your product! What a huge waste! So, always treat your customers well!

What to sell and where to sell follows the same principle - without popularity, there won't be good sales performance.
Second, try to merge similar single items. Many people like to lay out goods, selling slightly different products separately, even duplicating listings, thinking the more items displayed, the more chances of being seen! However, this greatly disperses the popularity of each item, leaving each item with very little attention. How could your items appear on the first few pages of search results? Even if you spend money to promote, you can't promote all of them, right? You'll always end up neglecting something.
Even so, I'd like to share a few free promotions I'm currently doing, though the effects aren't particularly great!
June, my efforts paid off, finally entering the one-diamond rank. Although it's not a high level, it will finally make buyers trust me!
4. Go to software services and choose marketing promotion software, then select those that offer free trials, and try them one by one.
Personally, I think the following two points are crucial for traffic introduction, so I've dedicated a separate chapter to them.

Alimama promotion accounts for 45.45% of total traffic. Although this traffic is large, the conversion rate is extremely low, most of them close the page after viewing. However, the cost per individual traffic is relatively low, and it can increase the popularity in the store, so occasionally doing it is fine. Additionally, the low conversion rate might be related to the products I sell, so feel free to try it.
直通车 accounts for 31.6% of total traffic. This is currently the main source of quality traffic. Consider this: since others have searched for your items on Taobao, it at least indicates two things: they are willing to buy things on Taobao, and they are interested in your items.
Additionally, I have an idea: find 8 sellers to exchange item detail links with me. Honest sellers can contact me and give it a try.
Many friends ask me: How did you achieve one diamond in a month (now two diamonds, all transactions come from June, July's haven't been shown yet). This isn't a very glorious method, although it's completely in line with Taobao's rules, you can understand by looking at the reviews. Many dear sellers have the idea of getting free traffic without spending money on promotion. But have you ever thought about this: Taobao's current profitability is quite good, so where does its profit come from? Almost every penny comes from sellers. If we sellers could all do it without spending money, wouldn't Taobao go bankrupt directly? Taobao wouldn't tolerate such a situation, so don't focus too much energy on making money for free. After all, time has a cost too. Of course, this is just my personal opinion, no throwing eggs please, transfer shops!
I originally had over 1000 items, now consolidated down to just over 50, feeling very relaxed, very easy to manage!
Traffic Introduction
Besides individual item promotions and activities, overall store activities are also indispensable. Just recently, Taobao held an event and gave away a month of egg-smashing software, which I fully utilized. Besides giving away egg-smashing opportunities for the first visit and collection, every purchase of 2 yuan gives one egg-smashing chance; and I set the winning probability quite high, placing the activity introduction on every item detail page, striving to let every visitor see the activity. Buyers, of course, are willing to participate enthusiastically.
Do you remember what I said before? The ultimate goal is sales, so having a lot of traffic that doesn't convert into purchases is useless.
There are countless ways to convert traffic. Currently, I'm not doing very well, but I can share the efforts I've already made:
Mentioned earlier, merging items. Take the necklace in the picture below as an example. Since the customer clicked on your necklace, they are naturally interested in necklaces. At this point, showing them more styles would increase the likelihood of purchase, right? So, I merged necklaces into one item. Clicking this item allows them to see similar necklaces, increasing the browsing information of the item.
Do more promotions and discount activities to benefit buyers. Initially, without popularity, why would buyers choose your items? High quality and low price are timeless good methods. Still using the above picture as an example, one item, both at a special price and with free shipping, would certainly attract buyers' interest.
Currently, there is nothing particularly innovative in this area, simply sharing briefly:
First: Cherish your items, take care of your items, don't let your items lose ranking, otherwise all your subsequent efforts will be in vain, unable to promote through直通车, unable to be found by search engines, even if your items reach the blockbuster level, once they lose ranking, all previous efforts will be wasted!
There is always a final goal when doing anything, and Taobao is no exception. So, what is your purpose for doing Taobao? Someone might say, just for fun. Then I ask you, is it fun to not sell a single item in a year? Definitely not fun! So, at least our purpose on Taobao is to sell our items and make a profit! Now that we have a goal, everything we do on Taobao should revolve around this goal!
