Yesterday afternoon at 3:00 PM, at the Apple Store in Sanlitun Village, a foreign man had a friction with those who were queuing, causing chaos on-site. Apple Store Door Broken
Yesterday afternoon at around 4:00 PM, outside the Apple Store in Sanlitun, there was still a large crowd of people queuing, but the south entrance of the store was isolated by barriers. A glass door at the south entrance was missing, and multiple police officers were investigating inside the store. The Apple Store displayed a sign that read, "Under construction, please excuse us, we are working hard to make this store better." On-site security stated that the store would not be able to resume normal business operations that evening, and it was uncertain whether it would open for business today.
Multiple witnesses described that around 3:00 PM, a foreign man walked out from inside the store, came to the crowd, dragged a young man and threw him to the ground. He then shoved a middle-aged woman. This foreign man, holding a stick, also injured another man's head. Due to this conflict, the situation on-site became chaotic, with many people rushing into the store. During this process, there was a loud crash, and it was discovered that a glass door of the store was broken.
Witnesses said that after the incident, police officers arrived at the scene to investigate. Those who were injured in the conflict were taken away by an ambulance. Reporters attempted to enter the store for interviews but were refused.
Injured Persons Treated
It was learned that at least three people were injured in the conflict, one of whom had his head cracked. These individuals were sent to the nearby Chaoyang Hospital for treatment.
At 8:00 PM last night, police officers came to the hospital to question the injured persons. A male injured person surnamed Ding stated that he was queuing with his mother to purchase a white iPhone 4. Due to too many people queuing, the store’s security personnel kept entering the queue, clearing some queue-jumpers and scalpers. A foreign man walked out from inside the store and approached him. "This man was over six feet tall, very strong, grabbed my clothes, and lifted me up," Mr. Ding said. Subsequently, after being dragged for about ten meters and thrown to the ground, his mother stepped forward to reason with the man, who also shoved her. Multiple on-site evidence showed that this person was wearing an Apple work uniform.
Subsequently, many people gathered around, surrounding him at the store entrance demanding an explanation. Mr. Ding said he did not know these people. When the crowd tried to enter the store to find the aggressor, they were blocked by the security guards, leading to another conflict. In the chaos, the glass door of the Apple Store broke, although it was unclear whether the door was broken due to crowding or being hit. Mr. Ding also mentioned that he did not have a formal job and relied on odd jobs for a living. During the conflict, he sustained a wound on his right waist, which was diagnosed as a soft tissue contusion requiring hospital observation.

After the incident, many netizens posted some photos about the event on Weibo. The photos showed a pile of broken glass at the store entrance. Staff members of the store continuously washed the ground with water. Two male injured persons lay on the ground, one of whom had a waist injury and was receiving treatment at Chaoyang Hospital.

As of press time, the Apple Store had not responded to the matter. Chaoyang police confirmed the incident of the Apple Store's glass door being smashed.
