At around 4:57 PM on the 23rd, students of a primary school located at Houzaimen were being dismissed from school. Yuan Gaichao, the 57-year-old police officer stationed at the school, was maintaining order at the school gate when suddenly a man rushed over and kicked him in the stomach, followed by two punches to his face. Bystanders quickly intervened to pull the assaulting man away. After receiving the emergency call, the Xiwu Road Police Station officers arrived at the scene and took control of the man.
According to the police, the man's surname is Han, and he is 28 years old. On that day, Han’s wife Guo Li (a pseudonym) was holding their child at the entrance of a primary school at Houzaimen when a security guard asked her to leave as the students were about to be dismissed. The guard then pulled her arm, causing Guo Li to punch the guard in response, after which the guard kicked her. Feeling wronged, Guo Li called her husband, Han. Upon arriving at the school, Han saw his wife standing together talking with the stationed police officer Yuan Gaichao. Han mistakenly thought that Yuan Gaichao was the person who had the conflict with his wife, so without asking any questions, he charged forward and began punching and kicking Yuan Gaichao.
