Dynamic observation of the clinical value of early threatened abortion maternal serum HCG and progesterone concentrations: The group cure rate was 78%, efficiency 14%, invalid cases accounted for 8%, recurrence rate was 7%. In the control group, the overall recurrence rate was 23%, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). The joint application of Nystatin and lactobacillus vaginal capsule plays a significant role in the prevention and treatment of Candida vaginitis, and it has no toxic side effects.

Vulvovaginal candidiasis (also known as Candida albicans) is not just caused by Candida infection (mainly Candida albicans), but also one of the most common types of vulvovaginitis in women. In recent years, the incidence has shown an upward trend according to foreign information. About 75% of women in their lifetime have suffered from at least one episode of vulvovaginal candidiasis... The age distribution of patients is wide-ranging, with common symptoms including genital itching, often accompanied by vulvar burning sensation and vaginal pain. There may also be an increase in the amount of vaginal discharge, changes in its properties (thick, resembling bean dregs or curd-like), severe urinary frequency, dysuria, painful intercourse, and it is prone to recurrence.

From January 2006 to January 2007, our hospital treated outpatients diagnosed with vaginal candidiasis infection using combination therapy with Nystatin and lactobacillus vaginal capsule, achieving good results, reported as follows:

### 1 Materials and Methods

#### 1.1 General Information:

The cases were outpatients aged 20 to 62 years, with a duration of 1 day to 0.5 years. They were randomly divided into an observation group of 100 cases and a control group of 100 cases. Both groups of patients had varying degrees of vulvovaginal burning sensation, itching, white thick discharge resembling curd-like or bean dregs. Gynecological examination revealed redness and swelling of the vulva and vagina, and microscopic examination of vaginal secretions showed hyphae and Candida spores. Patients had not received any treatment within 2 weeks prior to enrollment, and there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of age and duration of illness.

#### 1.2 Observation Group:

100 cases were treated with Nystatin tablets (100μg), once daily for 5 days, followed by Lactic Acid Bacteria Vaginal Capsule (0.5g, containing 12 million live lactic acid bacteria), once daily for 5 days, totaling 10 days as one course.

Control Group:

100 cases were treated with Nystatin tablets (100U), once daily for 10 days as one course. Both groups washed the vulva and vagina thoroughly with 3% soda before treatment. Both groups underwent three courses of treatment.

#### 1.3 Treatment of Sexual Partners:

About 15% of male and female patients exposed to balanitis symptoms were examined and treated for Candida. Asymptomatic partners did not receive treatment.

#### 1.4 During the Treatment Period:

Patients were asked to prohibit sexual activity and not use antibiotics.

#### 1.5 Follow-up:

At the end of treatment, after 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months later, women were investigated, including gynecological examination and vaginal secretion microscopy.

#### 1.6 Clinical Criteria:

Clinical presentation and vaginal secretion Candida microscopy results were integrated to determine efficacy.

- Cure: Symptoms and signs disappeared, vaginal secretion microscopy negative for Candida.

- Effective: Significant reduction in signs and symptoms, vaginal secretion microscopy positive.

- Invalid: No change in signs and symptoms and vaginal secretion microscopy.

### 2 Results

In the observation group, 95 cases were cured, with a cure rate of 95%, effective in 5 cases, with an efficiency of 5%; in the control group, the cure rate was 78%, effective rate 14%, and invalid rate 8%. Recurrence rates: 7% in the observation group and 5% in the control group, with a recurrence rate of 7% within 3 months accounting for 11%. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05).

### 3 Discussion

#### 3.1 Nystatin:

Nystatin is a polyene antifungal antibiotic that has antibacterial effects on Candida, cryptococcosis, coccidioidomycosis, and is low-cost. Lactobacillus vaginal capsules contain probiotics with viable lactic acid bacteria, which can produce lactic acid and H0 directly added to the normal physiology of bacteria within the vagina, adjust the balance of vaginal flora, suppress and eliminate harmful bacteria in the vagina. Lactobacillus is resistant to β-lactams, macrolides, aminoglycosides, and other sensitive drugs, so combination therapy should avoid the use of Nystatin which is not sensitive. Lactic acid bacteria inhibit mold's ability to absorb nutrients.

#### 3.2 Candida Vaginitis:

Candida vaginitis is an infection caused by Candida albicans in a large population. Candida thrives in an acidic living environment with a pH value of 4.0 to 4.7, and under normal conditions, less than 4.5 is considered an opportunistic pathogen. Under normal circumstances, 10% to 20% of non-pregnant women and 30% of pregnant women carry this parasitic bacteria in the vagina..., but a small number does not cause clinical symptoms, and only when breeding advantages will cause vulvovaginal candidiasis diseases. Weakened body defenses or local mucosal damage, long-term use of antibiotics, digestive tract, urinary tract, vagina, etc., mucosal invasion of the body, causing infection, mode of transmission by endogenous infection, but also through contact with infected clothing indirect transmission. Past treatment of Candida vaginitis commonly used local and systemic treatment.
