On February 6, 2012, Schneider Electric was once again recognized by the industry for its commitment to sustainable development: ranked 26th in the "Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations" list published by Corporate Knights magazine on January 25 in Davos, Switzerland. In this evaluation, Schneider Electric leads the industry in advancing sustainable development. Among the eight French companies that made it into the Global Top 100, Schneider Electric ranks in the top three.

In the eighth edition of the ranking published by Corporate Knights, a Canadian magazine focused on clean capital, the Global 100 includes companies from 22 countries, covering all economic sectors. The total revenue of these 100 companies exceeds $3 trillion, with more than 5 million employees.

Gilles Vermot Desroches, Senior Vice President of Sustainable Development at Schneider Electric, said: "Schneider Electric's ranking in the 'Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations' is an affirmation and encouragement of our commitment to sustainable development. Sustainable development is based on a deep understanding of global interests and innovative ways to solve problems, which benefits not only our customers but also the entire world, allowing all our stakeholders to benefit."

Schneider Electric’s inclusion in this list of top 100 global companies signifies widespread industry recognition of Schneider Electric's integration of sustainable development into its core strategy: on one hand, through energy-saving and efficiency-enhancing solutions, promoting the production of clean energy, forming consumption habits that respect and protect the environment; while taking dynamic corporate social responsibility actions, represented by its "Planet & Society Barometer" indicator, which regularly publishes key progress in all aspects of sustainability every quarter.

Schneider Electric plans to actively implement this strategy through the development of smart city and smart grid solutions, the release of a new set of "Planet & Society Barometer" over the next three years, and the renewed commitment of all its employees worldwide, ensuring that sustainable development becomes an increasingly important aspect of the group's DNA.

Over the past 25 years of being rooted in China, the concept of sustainable development has been integrated into all aspects of Schneider Electric's business, dedicated to helping Chinese customers achieve energy savings and efficiency improvements, contributing to China's sustainable development. Schneider Electric always regards balancing the relationship between the company and society, internal employees, and the natural environment as the foundation of sustainable development. Through projects such as Luli, Blue Wave Plan, and emergency aid, Schneider Electric has donated cash and equipment valued at over RMB 76.6 million to Chinese society, with employee donations exceeding RMB 8 million. The recently successfully implemented "Xinjiang Off-grid Photovoltaic Power Generation Assistance Project for Electricity-less Villages" provides safe and clean electricity to residents in non-electrified areas of China through an overall solar power generation solution.

On January 17, Schneider Electric also won the Zayed Future Energy Prize (ZFEP 2012) "Large Enterprise" category achievement award at the Abu Dhabi World Future Energy Summit.
