China Radio International, Nanchang, December 7th (reported by Cai Fujin, with correspondents Ge Anyang and Zhan Jianmin) - The Public Security Bureau's public security team of Yanshan County, Jiangxi Province successfully captured the fugitive Lin who was wanted for a robbery case that happened 13 years ago. This success was greatly attributed to the cooperation from the police in Fuging City, Fujian Province.

According to the investigation, the suspect Lin, male, 47 years old, is from Yuxi Town, Fuging City, Fujian Province. On the night of January 29th, 1998, at around 10 p.m., Lin conspired with others to drive two box trucks from Yuxi Town, Fuging City, rushing to Changda Eel Farm in the original Wutong Township of Yanshan County. Armed with kitchen knives, iron bars, and cables, they bound and beat two on-duty staff members, then stole over 20 tons of eels worth more than 1 million yuan before fleeing in their vehicles.

After the incident, the Yanshan public security authorities acted decisively, arresting co-conspirators such as Liu, but Lin remained at large for 13 years. Since the launch of the "Clear Net Action," the Yanshan County Public Security Bureau quickly formed an escapee hunting team to carefully comb through the case details. On November 7th, they traveled a thousand miles to Fujian to carry out escapee hunting actions. The investigating officers first went to Lin's home in Fuging City to gather information. However, all of Lin's family members were working elsewhere. The police deduced that his family must have been in contact with Lin. They started from Lin’s family and conducted secret investigations on Lin's wife Zheng. After a series of information comparisons, it was found that Zheng's phone had frequent contact with a number from Yuxi Town, Fuging City. Based on the controlled relevant situation, the investigating officers determined that the owner of this number was very likely Lin himself.

To avoid alarming him prematurely, the investigating officers did not confront Lin directly but instead carried out inquiries around his periphery, searching for any trace of Lin.

Through several days of meticulous work, the escapee hunting team learned that Lin owned a coal mine in Gansu, had complex social relationships, and had already gained some fame locally in Fuging. There were also signs indicating that he had noticed the activities of the Yanshan police in Fuging. Without hesitation, the escapee hunting team returned to Yanshan first, creating a false impression that the Yanshan police had abandoned the pursuit. On November 15th, the escapee hunting team once again headed south to Fuging. Unexpectantly confronted by the Yanshan police, Lin lowered his guard. With strong support and cooperation from the local police, the escapee hunting team quickly located Lin's hiding place and devised a thorough arrest plan. Recently, they captured Lin on the spot inside a rental house in Yuxi Town, Fuging City. Under interrogation, Lin admitted without reservation to the act of robbing eels 13 years ago. Currently, Lin has been legally criminally detained by the Yanshan County Public Security Bureau, and the case is under further investigation.
