Product Usage: The purpose of the RCA paper tape wear tester and accelerated life testing is to increase environmental stress (such as temperature) and operational stress (voltage, load applied to the product, etc.) to expedite the testing process and shorten the lifespan testing time of products or systems. It is used for investigating when electronic components and mechanical parts experience wear and reduced lifespan, analyzing the shape of the failure distribution function of lifespan, and identifying the reasons for increased failure rates.
With the improvement in semiconductor reliability, most semiconductor devices can endure long-term THB tests without failure, thus significantly increasing the test time required to ensure finished product quality. To improve testing efficiency and reduce testing time, the latest pressure cooker test method is adopted. Pressure cooker test methods are primarily divided into two types: PCT and USPCT (HAST). Currently, pressure cooker tests as humidity-accelerated tests have been standardized by IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission).
Note: USPCT is now referred to as HAST (Highly Accelerated Stress Test).
