Our reporter Zhang Ning - Yesterday morning, a 78-year-old woman surnamed Chen fell at the Tuanjiehu bus stop and suffered a fractured left leg. The elderly woman stated that when she was getting off the No. 302 bus, she hadn't fully exited the door before it closed. Her leg was struck by the closing door, causing her to fall. Subsequently, the bus drove away. The No. 302 bus fleet indicated they have not yet received any reports about this incident and will investigate whether the situation is true.

Witnesses saw the elderly woman lying on the ground and called for an ambulance. At 11:00 yesterday morning, the injured Ms. Chen was lying in the emergency room of the Beijing Armed Police General Hospital, with her daughter by her side. When the doctor tapped on her left hip joint and foot sole, the elderly woman cried out in pain. Based on the CT scan, the doctor determined that Ms. Chen had a fractured left leg.

Ms. Chen recounted that early yesterday morning, she boarded a No. 302 bus near the Shuang'an Mall, intending to transfer to the No. 43 bus at Tuanjiehu. At 9:30 AM, the bus arrived at the Tuanjiehu station, opened its doors, and she began to exit from the rear door. "My one leg wasn't fully down when the door shut, and my other leg was hit by the door," said the elderly woman. After being struck on her right foot, she fell to the ground, feeling intense pain on her left side and unable to move.

"I lay on the ground for more than 10 minutes," Ms. Chen added. Kind-hearted passersby helped her contact her family and the emergency services.

A witness, Ms. Li, said she saw Ms. Chen lying face-down on the ground and helped call the emergency number. Subsequently, the elderly woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Ms. Chen's daughter mentioned that her 78-year-old mother suffers from hypertension and other illnesses. After falling, the bus did not provide assistance but instead drove away. She believed the bus should take responsibility and thus reported the matter to the police.

Ms. Chen remarked, "The conductor must have seen what happened."

Yesterday, a staff member of the No. 302 bus fleet said that no report had been made by the driver or conductor regarding anyone falling while disembarking. Since the elderly woman could not recall the license plate number, the fleet would question each vehicle that reached the Tuanjiehu station during the incident time. The fleet also expressed willingness to cooperate with the police investigation.

This staff member added that if the elderly woman's family can provide relevant evidence or if the police determine that the accident was caused by the bus, they would assume corresponding responsibility and cover the elderly woman's medical expenses.
