McIlroy continues to be the best golfer in the United States in June of the year, having won the preceding Grand Slam victory. Now it's his girlfriend Wozniacki's turn to contend for the U.S. Open women’s singles championship, aiming to remove the "no Grand Slam achievement" label from her sister. Despite McIlroy and Wozniacki being close friends and family online, if his girlfriend wants to achieve her much-awaited Grand Slam breakthrough, McIlroy cannot continue to accompany her but must return to Europe to compete in this week’s Omega European Masters and next week’s Dutch Open. In pursuit of his own love, McIlroy at the U.S. PGA Championship simply hit the ball into the tree roots, causing an arm abrasion that is a source of concern. Wheat within their official website pointed out during the most recent update on the arm: "In retrospect, the attempt which hit was absolutely brainless and now the wrist has healed completely, but if I apply force while outdoors, just a little abscessed elbow appears, so I did not hit the ball. If I ultimately arrive in Switzerland, there will be a thorough practice."
On the par-five hole with Callaway FT-iZ Hybrid, they have managed to escape from a fairway bunker. Patrick Cantlay isn't the only one around the green; his 3rd shot landed on the green but fell short by 18 feet. Kelly Kraft's 5-iron hit the greenside bunker perfectly, but his 3rd save attempt, a truly remarkable shot, went past the hole, leaving a 5-foot distance. Although the tennis Grand Slam - U.S. Open has begun, the world’s sixth-ranked golfer McIlroy does not intend to accompany his girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki for the next couple of days. Instead, he will return to European competition this week and next week’s European Tour events, striving to reclaim the world’s third position. This week's 2012 European Ryder Cup qualifying points event starts at the Omega European Masters in Crans-sur-Sierre, where he will also compete in the first two Ryder Cup qualifying events - the Omega European Masters and the Dutch Open. These two tournaments feature the world’s second-ranked European Tour player Lee Westwood and the world’s fifth-ranked Martin Kaymer, along with this year’s British Open champion Darren Clarke and last year’s British Open winner Louis Oosthuizen.
