Fluke 381 Clamp Meter Wins Prestigious Awards, Truly Deserved
Everett, Washington - The Fluke 381 Remote Display True RMS AC/DC clamp meter with iFlex has recently won the prestigious Platinum Best Product Award of the year from EC&M magazine and the eighth annual Tools Category Dealer Design Gold Award from ACHR NEWS in the United States.
The EC&M Annual Best Product Platinum Award is voted on by the readers of EC&M magazine. The Fluke 381 stood out among portable measurement instruments to secure victory. The competition for EC&M's Best Products began in 2000 to recognize outstanding new products in the electrical industry. In 2011, EC&M received 73 nominated products, which were carefully evaluated by a jury of seven judges comprising electrical engineers, contractors, inspectors, and plant facility staff selected from EC&M’s reader base. Readers of EC&M then voted to select the Platinum Best Product Award, Gold (runner-up) and Silver (third place) winners from the 24 winning products across various categories.
The ACHR NEWS Dealer Design Gold Award is a high commendation for HVACR product design. For the 2011 edition, 127 nominated products were judged by an independent panel of HVACR contractors selected by the entire editorial staff of NEWS. The jury assessed each nominated product through discussions on ease of installation and usability, maintenance, application, repair, and competitive differentiation. Ultimately, gold, silver, and bronze awards were presented across product categories.
Clement Feng, Global Vice President of Marketing at Fluke Corporation, stated: "The innovative Fluke 381 clamp meter winning the EC&M Best Product Platinum Award represents the highest affirmation by electrical engineers who use testing tools daily. The honor of the Dealer Design Gold Award confirms our persistent belief that technicians desire clamp meters that can truly transform their work methods. With its unique detachable display and iFlex flexible current probe, the Fluke 381 clamp meter provides superior performance and flexibility, helping engineers complete tasks faster and more easily. This is just one example of how Fluke listens to customer feedback and provides solutions to address various changing and complex challenges."
These two awards are the latest significant honors for the Fluke 381 this year. Additionally, the Fluke 381 clamp meter also won the Engineer's Choice Award for Portable Measurement Instruments from Control Engineering in 2010 and the Silver Award for Measuring Products and Instruments from Plant Engineering in 2010, truly deserving its accolades.
About the Fluke 381 Clamp Meter
The FLUKE 381 is the first clamp meter with a remote magnetic display. It includes all the functions of a standard clamp meter, but with a detachable display that makes measurements more convenient and safer. Simply clamp the F381 around a conductor, remove the display, and you can operate while reading the numbers—work that originally required two people can now be done easily by one! The new IFLEX flexible current clamp (included), extends the current range up to 2500Aac and makes readings easier, allowing measurements of irregularly sized and crowded wiring. The new Fluke iFlex flexible current probe expands the measurement range of Fluke meters to 2500A, providing exceptional measurement flexibility. The iFlex probe connects directly to the meter, displaying current measurement values without requiring error-prone scale coefficients. The 1.8m (6ft) long connecting cable separates the measurement location from the clamp meter, making it easier to view the display. It features a large loop size and thin cross-section, enabling measurements of awkwardly sized conductors and easier manipulation in confined spaces.
