It will be confirmed through DNA. At the age of 6, Huang Jie was abducted by human traffickers to Fujian. For more than 20 years, the blurred faces of his biological parents often lingered in his mind and could not be forgotten. In 2009, Huang Jie decided to find his biological parents, but after several attempts, he still had no results. Just when he felt disappointed, a volunteer from the "Baby Come Home" Volunteer Association discovered his information and posted it on the "Baby Come Home Reunion Website." With the help of countless volunteers, on April 29th this year, the volunteers finally found a child who went missing in 1988 in Huangjiawan Village, Tuanxi Town, Zunyi County, Guizhou Province, whose information matched Huang Jie's with extremely high accuracy.
On the afternoon of May 2nd, as scheduled, reporters met 28-year-old Huang Jie near Lanzhou West Station. He has been working in Lanzhou since 2008 and is now the professional manager of Xigu Ceramics Market. During the interview, Huang Jie appeared very excited, but amidst the excitement, there was a trace of worry: "My biological parents must have looked for me for more than 20 years, I'm afraid that in the end, it will turn out to be another disappointment!"
Huang Jie can no longer remember the name of his hometown clearly; he only vaguely remembers living in the countryside, where his vague memories include people harvesting wheat together, planting rice seedlings, and some scattered information such as cured meat hanging under the eaves of his home.
When Xiao Mei saw this piece of information, she quickly thought of Zhou Chengliang, who was looking for relatives on the website. Her intuition told her: this Zhou Liang might very well be Zhou Chengliang.
Xiao Mei discovers significant clues
After searching for so many years, Huang Jie finally received news about his biological parents, which made him deeply moved. He said that upon learning of this news, he almost immediately planned to fly over to visit his parents, but eventually abandoned the idea because he had experienced the disappointment after being full of hope before. If he were to go now, and the final DNA test did not match, the impact on the family in Guizhou would be unimaginable. Therefore, he wanted to wait until the DNA test was completed, and if the result matched, he would go to Guizhou as soon as possible to reunite with his family. (Editor: SN021)
According to Huang Jie's recollection, he was abducted at the age of 6. Before being abducted, he was called Zhou Chengliang, and his brother was called Zhou Chengjiang. He can still remember the scene of being abducted. According to him, one day after school, he and his brother walked out of the school gate when they encountered a man and a woman who claimed to be their mother's friends. His brother ignored them and went home alone, but young Huang Jie couldn't resist the temptation of the sweets they bought for him, so he followed the man and woman onto the bus. However, when the bus passed through the alley where his house was located, the two did not let him get off but tightly held him down despite his crying and struggling. Later, after several transfers and handovers, he was sold to his adoptive parents' home - Putian City, Fujian Province.
Volunteers from 21 provinces and cities lend a helping hand
The volunteers used the advantage of the "Baby Come Home" website having a large number of users and wide coverage to quickly mobilize volunteers from 21 provinces and cities involved, verifying each of the 59 leads regarding "Zhou Chengjiang." Soon, the volunteers from various provinces and cities took action, verifying the situation of Zhou Chengjiang and his family in their respective provinces through telephone calls. Jilin, Shaanxi, and Anhui completed the verification tasks first, followed by Hebei, Shaanxi, Hunan, Sichuan, Jiangsu...
Just when Huang Jie was most disheartened, a volunteer from the "Baby Come Home" Volunteer Association accidentally saw the information Huang Jie had posted, learned about his frustrating experiences and his urgent desire to return home, and these volunteers sprang into action.
"I want to see how they've been all these years, I want to let them know that after all these years, their son has grown up!" As the dream of more than 20 years came closer and closer, Huang Jie was moved to tears.
Huang Jie said that his adoptive parents supported his efforts to find his biological parents, but because they were not very clear about the process of his abduction, they could not provide Huang Jie with more clues.
In 2009, as a professional manager, Huang Jie began his journey to find his family. On one hand, he relied on his connections to inquire everywhere; on the other hand, he wrote down his childhood memories in a diary and published them on various websites, hoping to find relevant information about his background through this effort. But after more than a year had passed, there was still no news.
Childhood memories are vague and fragmented
At 19:20 on April 29th, following the contact method provided online, Xiao Mei quickly called Zhou Liang's family. The mother of the lost child said that her missing son was indeed named Zhou Chengliang. When Xiao Mei informed Zhou's mother of the clues Zhou Chengliang gave about his family and disappearance one by one, Zhou's mother excitedly kept saying: "Yes! Yes! Yes!" Later, the family also viewed Zhou Chengliang's search information and photos online, further confirming that Zhou Chengliang was their long-lost son Zhou Liang.
According to Zhou's mother, when Zhou Chengjiang and Zhou Chengliang were little, the family genealogy was lost, and they couldn't determine the generation characters for the brothers, so when registering for the household registration, the father registered the two sons as "Zhou Yong" and "Zhou Liang." Later, the clan members said that the generation character should be "Cheng," and they named the two children "Zhou Chengjiang" and "Zhou Chengliang," and everyone at school called them by these names. However, because the names on the brothers' household registration were never changed, their names did not match the names on their household registration.
Because the clues provided by both sides matched extremely well, Huang Jie has already basically confirmed that he is the Zhou Liang who went missing in Huangjiawan Village, Tuanxi Town, Zunyi County, Guizhou Province many years ago. After mutual agreement, Zhou Liang has sent a few strands of his hair to Guizhou, hoping to confirm their relationship through the final DNA test.
