To achieve clear Chinese fonts in Photoshop, it's necessary to turn off anti-aliasing. However, when the font size is less than 12px, the system-default Songti (SimSun) becomes a mess, and Heiti or other external fonts also become quite unattractive.
Since Windows 2000, systems have installed a font called "Mingti" (MingLiu). You can find the "MingLiu.ttc" file in the Fonts directory on your system drive. If it's not there, go to the Regional Options in Control Panel and enable Traditional Chinese support, or use IE to open any webpage and manually switch the encoding to Traditional BIG5; the system will install it automatically. This font remains clear even at 11px.
