PSP Video Converter is a powerful Sony PSP video conversion tool that helps you convert almost all popular video formats, such as RM, RMVB, VOB, DAT, VCD, DVD, SVCD, ASF, MOV, QT, MPEG, WMV, MP4, 3GP, DivX, XviD, AVI, FLV and other video files into video formats supported by the Sony PSP gaming console. It features simplicity, speed, high-quality output, and supports batch file conversion.

### User Guide:

1. Open "PSP Video Converter," and the following interface will appear:

2. Click the "Add" button to add the video files you want to convert to the software.

3. If you wish to change the video output effect, you can adjust the video bitrate. If you want to change the audio quality, you can adjust the audio bitrate and sampling rate.

4. In video parameters, the higher the video bitrate, the clearer the generated file will be, but the file size will also be larger. The lower the video bitrate, the blurrier the generated file will be, and the file size will be smaller. For audio, the higher the audio bitrate and sampling rate, the better the sound quality will be, but the file size will also be larger. Conversely, the lower the audio bitrate and sampling rate, the poorer the sound quality will be, and the file size will be smaller.

### Fun Fact:

#### MP4 Video Format in PSP:

The MP4 video format in PSP can be divided into Standard MP4 (referred to as MP4) and MP4(AVC) (referred to as AVC). Both formats have the same file extension .MP4. MP4 uses XviD encoding, while AVC uses H264 encoding. MP4 has been supported since the PSP 1.0 firmware version, meaning any PSP version can play it. However, AVC is only directly playable on PSP versions 2.0 and above. For PSP 1.5, it can be played after simulating a higher version using DEVHOOK 0.4X.

Both officially supported formats share common characteristics, and both can be referred to as MP4 format. The difference lies in the fact that AVC uses H264 encoding, which is more advanced and can achieve good results with less capacity, meaning it has a higher compression rate. Therefore, AVC format is now more widely used, with its only drawback being that the compression speed is slightly slower compared to standard MP4.

#### Placement of MP4 in PSP:

Create a folder named "MP_ROOT" in the root directory of your memory stick. Then, create two folders under the MP_ROOT folder: one named "100MNV01" and the other "101ANV01." Following the MP4 video naming rules, place ordinary Xvid+AAC encoded MP4 videos in the "100MNV01" folder, and H264+AAC encoded MP4 videos in the "101ANV01" folder.

#### Naming Rules for MP4 Videos:

- Ordinary MP4 files use the naming pattern M4V*****.MP4 (where ***** are any five digits).

- AVC files use the naming pattern MAQ*****.MP4 (where ***** are any five digits).

#### Important Notes on Case Sensitivity in MP4 Naming:

Allowed:

- m4v00001.MP4

- m4v00001.mp4

- M4V00001.mp4

- M4V00001.MP4

Not Allowed:

- m4V00001.mp4

- M4v00001.MP4

- m4v00001.Mp4

- M4V00001.mP4

In other words, the file name and extension cannot mix uppercase and lowercase letters.
