K-Meleon is a web browser based on Gecko. Its Gecko layout engine is written by the Mozilla Foundation, and is also used in Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Suite and SeaMonkey.
K-Meleon aims to provide a lightweight browser on Microsoft Windows, using the Native Interface of the operating system to create the toolbar and menu of the program. This is similar to Galeon or Epiphany on Linux and other Unix-like operating systems, and Camino on Mac OS X. Due to its lower resource requirements, K-Meleon is more responsive than most other Gecko-based web browsers. This is beneficial for older hardware systems with limited resources.
