□ Chief Reporter Li Zhao, Communications by Li Guangming - Zhumadian News: Two junior high school students were poisoned and killed on a hillside, and the murderer was also a junior high school student. On December 2 last year, our newspaper exclusively reported this shocking nationwide case of junior high school students committing poisoning murder in an article titled "Junior High School Student Poisons 'Learning Role Model'".
On May 25 and 26 this year, the Intermediate People's Court of Zhumadian City delivered the verdict to both the plaintiff and defendant parties. The judgment showed: Defendant Xiao Fang (pseudonym) was found guilty of intentional homicide and sentenced to life imprisonment with deprivation of political rights for life.
Event Recap: In the depths of the mountains, one junior high school student poisons two classmates.
November 20 last year was a Saturday. That day after lunch, Xiao Ming (13 years old, pseudonym) and Xiao Liang (13 years old, pseudonym) went out to play together with Xiao Fang (14 years old). These three youths were from Wangzhuang Village, Rendian Town, Queshan County, surrounded by mountains, and they all attended Rendian No. 1 Junior High School.
When Xiao Fang left home, he had already mixed dog poison that he had purchased beforehand into a plastic cup containing beer, which he then tightly capped and brought with him. While playing on the mountain north of the village, Xiao Ming and Xiao Liang drank the beer from the cup and subsequently died of poisoning. After identification, it was determined that Xiao Ming and Xiao Liang both died of cyanide poisoning.
Afterwards, Xiao Fang confessed that due to jealousy towards Xiao Ming's good academic performance, he conceived the idea of making him disappear so that his mother would no longer compare them.
Villagers: The children are most affected
"Those three kids, like little geese, were all very lovable. The unimaginable poisoning that occurred among them is the result of parents' inappropriate comparisons." Yesterday morning, I drove to Wangzhuang Village, where an 82-year-old man issued a recruitment notice to form a senior basketball team. Villagers sighed.
According to villagers, after the poisoning incident, Xiao Fang's family sold all their valuables to compensate Xiao Ming's and Xiao Liang's families; Xiao Fang's parents have now gone out to work and dare not live in the village anymore.
"Actually, those most affected are the children," the villagers said. Many children were frightened, and even now, there is mutual suspicion among the children.
Rendian No. 1 Junior High School: Timely psychological counseling helps students overcome psychological shadows
As noon approached, I arrived at Rendian No. 1 Junior High School, where the incident involving Xiao Ming, Xiao Liang, and Xiao Fang occurred before. Vice Principal Wang led me into the school's psychological counseling room and said: After that incident (the poisoning), the school established a psychological counseling room. Since the school has two teachers qualified as third-level psychological counselors, based on the suggestions of these two counselors, the school held three parent meetings consecutively, allowing counselors Lü Dong and Li Wenran to give lessons to all the children's parents, teaching them how to educate their children and how to quickly help their children get rid of psychological shadows, establishing a complete personality. Meanwhile, each class held multiple large discussions regarding this matter. Through these discussions, the children recognized and understood the event, and rationality made them no longer panic, gradually eliminating their psychological shadows.
"Construction of students' mental health, especially during the elementary school stage, needs to be strengthened," said Yan Wei, a veteran psychological counselor from the Zhumadian City Chaoyang Psychological Counseling Center, when I called him yesterday afternoon. He said: Elementary school children have deep intuitive impressions and slow attention shifts; the strong stimulation of the poisoning incident left a deep imprint on the hearts of local children, requiring timely dispersal of the shadows on the children's hearts. "We can't delay any longer. Children need mental health guidance to restore their healthy mindset as soon as possible."
By 6 PM on the 26th, six psychological counselors from the city had expressed their willingness to provide free psychological counseling services at Wangzhuang Primary School, helping the children there overcome their psychological shadows and restore their mental health as soon as possible.
