Yesterday, Zhang Ming (a pseudonym), a third-year junior high school student from a certain middle school in the northern part of the city, and several friends were buying drinks at a bubble tea store near their school. Unexpectedly, before he had even taken a few sips of his tea, he was stabbed on the street by a teenager around 15 or 16 years old... After being rescued at the Provincial Hospital, Zhang Ming's condition stabilized, but as to why he was stabbed, he said he himself didn't know.

Currently, the police are conducting further investigations into this case.

After a shoving match, a third-year junior high school student was stabbed on the street

At around 5 PM yesterday afternoon, the intersection of Renmin North Road and Wuding Road was bustling with traffic, and a pool of blood on the sidewalk caught the attention of many passersby. There were also large stains of blood on the nearby electric poles.

When Zhang Ming was stabbed, Ms. Lu, a traffic control officer at the intersection, was directing traffic. She recalled that at around 4:10 PM, suddenly several teenagers around 15 or 16 years old gathered at the roadside, "A few of them were wearing school uniforms." "They all looked quite agitated, constantly pushing and pulling each other," she said. Due to the large number of schools nearby, "this kind of situation is relatively common, so I didn’t intervene." But as time went on, Ms. Lu began to feel something was wrong. When she was about to go up and ask what was going on, she saw two girls and four or five boys suddenly cross the road, running westward along Renmin North Road, while one of the remaining boys, who had blood on his hand, ran toward Wuding Road. "Throughout the process, no one shouted."

Calm self-rescue: Running back to the school for help from the gatekeeper

Besides the pool of blood at the intersection, there were also some scattered bloodstains along the road leading to Wuding Road. Originally, the injured Zhang Ming quickly ran back to the school gate for help. "While running, he was still bleeding, with blood on both his hands and feet," recalled Chen Yongping, the school gatekeeper. Zhang Ming, limping, made it to the guard room and asked him to inform his parents and call the police. "There were two wounds on his hand, and the blood was gushing out like a fountain; there was also a cut on his foot," Chen Yongping explained. Seeing Zhang Ming bleeding profusely, he quickly stopped an electric bike and took Zhang Ming to the nearby Forestry Hospital for emergency treatment, "Later, he was transferred to the Provincial Hospital."

Father sighs: The son is usually not mischievous

"The child has been very well-behaved lately, studying until eleven or twelve o'clock at night before going to sleep." At 6 PM, outside the operating room of the Provincial Hospital, Zhang Ming's father sat on a chair, sighing repeatedly. In Zhang Ming's father's view, although Zhang Ming's academic performance wasn't too good, he wasn't mischievous either. After the second semester of the third year of junior high school started this year, Zhang Ming studied very hard, "He said he wanted to get into a better high school." A teacher standing beside him kept comforting him, saying, "As long as the child is fine, that's all that matters."

Fifteen minutes later, Zhang Ming was wheeled out of the operating room. Lying in bed, he was conscious and muttering, "Don't tell my mom." "His mother isn't in good health, and he must have been afraid she would worry if she found out," Zhang Ming's father patted his son's head and lifted the blanket to check the bandaged wounds. As to why he was stabbed, Zhang Ming expressed that it happened suddenly, and he himself didn't quite understand.
