With the continuous improvement of the informatization level of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the network coverage is becoming increasingly powerful, and the number of information points in structured cabling systems is also growing. How to accurately plan, design, and implement a structured cabling system while effectively managing and maintaining communication networks has become an issue currently faced by SMEs. The design of network cabling systems for SMEs must fully consider both user investment and potential future bandwidth demands brought on by new business growth. It should be flexible, reliable, and advanced. Therefore, this requires a reasonable system architecture and the use of high-performance, reliable products and equipment to ensure the construction of a perfect and reliable network operation platform, aiding in the informatization of SMEs.
In general, the design of SME network cabling systems should focus on reliable and stable usability, flexibility, scalability, and high cost-effectiveness to meet current and future information system needs of SMEs. This ensures that the system can adapt to network expansion and upgrades while controlling operational costs.
To address the cabling needs of SME networks, Schneider Electric's Digilink series of structured cabling products has been developed. From patch panels, cables, and jumpers to termination tools, the Digilink copper and fiber optic solutions cover all requirements comprehensively. With a robust structure, lightweight design, and easy installation, the Digilink products effectively satisfy the network connection needs of SMEs, office environments, and homes. They unify the transmission of voice, data, images, and other control signals, creating an information modernized work and living space. Additionally, DigiLink products have passed UL and ETL certifications, ensuring reliability and stability of the data network in terms of safety, performance, and quality, giving users peace of mind during usage.
Based on the informatization application needs of SMEs and combining with the development of current network communication technology, Digilink proposes three comprehensive solutions centered around the typical informatization needs of SMEs. These solutions are widely suitable for enterprises of different sizes and industries. Given the differences in informatization construction needs among different industry users, users can also modify these solutions as a basis in practical operations.
(1) **Cat 6 Solution**
The Cat 6 solution is specifically designed for high-speed data transmission with low fault tolerance. It offers excellent alien crosstalk suppression, complete insertion loss, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) prevention. Superior material characteristics and cable design, along with a die-cast aluminum patented structure and high-density KEYSTON patch panel design, enable the Cat 6 system to comply with and exceed ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Cat 6 and ISO/IEC 11801 Class E standards.
(2) **Cat 5e Solution**
The Digilink Cat 5e solution provides a complete channel solution, fully complying with EIA/TIA 568-B.2 and ISO 11801 Class D international standards. It provides sufficient return loss and crosstalk performance margins, supporting powerful networks and applications, including Gigabit Ethernet, broadband video, 3D images, and other multimedia applications. All products are UL/ETL certified, meeting user safety requirements.
(3) **Fiber Optic Solution**
The Digilink fiber optic system is a solution designed to meet the ever-increasing demand for high-speed data transmission and bandwidth. It provides a full range of fiber optic cabling products, including optical cables, fiber patch panels, adapters, fiber jumpers, and pigtails. Optical cables come in single-mode, multi-mode, simplex, duplex specifications, and various jacket types to flexibly adapt to various project applications. Aluminum alloy fiber patch panels feature a specially treated powder coating for a stable, aesthetically pleasing, and lightweight structure with compact dimensions. Modular adapter panels are designed for easy and flexible installation, removal, and replacement of adapters, facilitating installation, inspection, and replacement.
For the backbone system in office buildings, 12-core 10G multimode OM3 optical cables are used, laid through conduits. The horizontal subsystem uses Category 6 unshielded twisted pair cables for both voice and data networks, providing mutual backup and ensuring support for high-speed network applications. All equipment in the floor distribution rooms can be installed in 19" standard cabinets. Copper patch panels should be Category 6 unshielded and compatible with RJ45 interface standards.
