Beautiful software is not practical, and practical software is not beautiful. Take Total Commander for example; its interface is indeed somewhat "shabby" (the latest version has improved a bit), but it is absolutely the "boss" of file management. Various beautification software may look very pretty, but that cool interface can only please our eyes for a moment, and over time, it's easy to develop visual fatigue.
