The accuracy of the refrigerant charge during the fluorine addition operation is crucial. If the refrigerant charge is excessive, it can lead to the condenser becoming excessively hot, overheating of the return gas pipe (the connecting pipe from the capillary tube outlet to the evaporator inlet), insufficient cooling of the evaporator, increased compressor load, excessive temperature rise, and in severe cases, cessation of operation, which is very detrimental to the compressor. If the refrigerant charge is insufficient, it can result in the condenser not functioning properly, frosting of the return gas pipe, and even frosting of the evaporator, leading to a high temperature rise in the compressor, which may easily burn out the motor windings of the compressor. Similar to refrigerator fluorine addition, the common methods for fluorine addition in air conditioners include the fixed-quantity liquid addition method, the weighing liquid addition method, and the pressure fluorine addition method.
