City Evening News reported that at around 8 a.m. yesterday, at the intersection of Xi'an Avenue and Kangping Street in Changchun City, a bus No. 19 suddenly stopped while it was driving. It turned out that a female passenger had started a fight with the female driver. After witnessing this scene, Mr. Liu, a passerby, took some pictures.
At 11:30 a.m. yesterday, the reporter arrived at Bus No. 19 fleet of the Public Transport Group. The staff of the fleet contacted Yang Xiaoguang, the female driver involved in the incident.
Regarding this matter, Yang Xiaoguang said that this was not her fault. At the stop, the female passenger refused to get off the bus. When the bus passed the stop, she wanted to get off. "Now it's a red light, we can't open the door," Yang Xiaoguang said. At this point, without saying a word, the passenger hit her on the back.
"How could you hit people?" Yang Xiaoguang said. After hitting her, the passenger picked up a red bucket near the driver and splashed dirty water on her. Seeing this, Yang Xiaoguang quickly got up from the driver's seat and grabbed the water bucket in the passenger's hand. During the struggle, half a bucket of water was spilled onto the engine compartment.
"I know that even if the passenger hits me, I shouldn't hit back. But at that moment, I just thought that if my clothes were soaked, I wouldn't be able to work for the whole day," Yang Xiaoguang said. Although there was a conflict between the bus driver and the female passenger, the passenger didn't get off at the Construction Street stop but left after a few more stops.
Regarding this, the staff of the No. 19 bus fleet said that all the drivers of the fleet have undergone strict training and would absolutely never hit passengers.
