Lions defensive end Cory Redding, Women's Troy Polamalu Field Flirt Jersey, and the team are working towards reaching a new long-term deal before the potential Tuesday deadline. "We've had consistent conversations," Redding's agent, Kennard McGuire, told The Detroit Free Press. "I'm sure the only thing we're discussing speaks for itself."
Both sides must reach a deal by Monday, or under NFL rules, Redding would not be able to sign a long-term contract until next season. He could only remain this season by accepting the franchise tag — a one-year deal worth $6.775 million, the average salary of the top five highest-paid defensive ends in the league last season.
After transitioning from a rotational role to starting in some games during the 2004 season, Women's Ronnie Brown Jersey, Redding recorded 8-10 sacks — enough to lead the Lions that year. The Lions pursued him hard this offseason, but the two sides didn't reach a long-term agreement. To keep Redding off the free-agent market, Women's Pink Jay Cutler Jersey, the Lions used their franchise tag on him, giving them the right to match any offer he receives or allow him to become a first-round draft pick next season. The Lions are set to begin training camp on July 25th.
