CBS Athletics accounts indicate that Charlie Whitehurst seems to imagine he will be the employee this year at QB for the Seahawks, largely because he is the primarily "actually signed quarterback" on the active Hawks roster.
Thanks to the lockout, there are several clubs with unresolved QB situations. The Seattle Seahawks, who have Charlie Whitehurst as their only "definitely signed quarterback," are one of those teams. But have no fear, Seahawk fans — the bearded one believes he is the man to lead Seattle into the promised land. And at least, he thinks he can win a starting job anyway.
“Well, the good thing is I’m not going through the free-agent stuff like some guys are dealing with,” Whitehurst told The Seattle Times’ Danny O'Neil in a recent Q&A. “I know I’m the one QB that’s on the roster right now, and I’m not sure that’s going to change inevitably once we get the application settled. I see it like I’m going to get a chance to compete for a starting job, and I can do it."
"That’s what I do. As we figure things out, I’ll fight as hard as I can to make that happen."
