Supported by Huazhong Agricultural University: A key university under the national "211 Project" - Huazhong Agricultural University collaborates with Wuhan Nongke Humin Bioengineering Co., Ltd. to jointly study and commit to scientific farming and technological enrichment of centipede breeding technology: Humin No. 2 Golden-Headed Centipede.
Advanced technical advantages: Wuhan Nongke Humin Bioengineering Co., Ltd., together with several biological experts and professors of bioengineering from Huazhong Agricultural University, has cultivated a new generation of varieties - Humin No. 2 Golden-Headed Centipede through years of breeding observation, selective purification techniques, and biological gene improvement engineering. After observation, this variety is easy to breed, gentle in nature, strong in adaptability, fast-growing, highly reproductive, with better medicinal value and more significant economic value. It is an ideal investment breeding project for many friends in the breeding industry.
Complete breeding facilities: The company leverages its agricultural science advantage, characterized by life sciences, relying on experts and scholars from the College of Animal Science and Technology, focusing on modern bioengineering, special breeding, and insect resource development. It is a high-tech enterprise integrating research, breeding, teaching, promotion, technical services, production, sales, and import-export trade. It owns large ecological breeding areas, solar greenhouses, greenhouse breeding zones, and separate technical training centers, seedling breeding centers, germplasm rooms, incubation rooms, and gene transformation rooms, ensuring excellent foundations and a complete system.
Wuhan Nongke Humin Company: Upholding the tradition of "diligent reading and hard work, self-improvement and helping others," our company aims at "scientific farming" as its purpose, adhering to the business philosophy of "integrity, dedication, realism, innovation, and win-win" to promote the industrial development of centipede resources. We will strive to provide our fellow farmers with higher-quality, higher-yield seedlings, advanced technology, and more comprehensive services, keeping up with the times and jointly creating a more brilliant tomorrow.

Season for introducing breeds:
In principle, breeds can be introduced all year round. Introducing breeds around the time of Lixia (the beginning of summer) ensures that the breeder centipedes have not yet laid eggs but are about to enter the pre-laying period, making it easier to identify whether female centipedes are carrying eggs. If identified accurately, the breeder centipedes brought back may lay eggs within a short period, which is beneficial for accelerating breeding speed. Introducing breeds during autumn and winter allows mastering centipede wintering techniques with constant temperature breeding technology, producing small centipedes before spring, and entering a growth state by Lixia.
3. Quality identification of breeder centipedes:
Identifying the quality of breeder centipedes mainly involves their appearance and behavior. In terms of appearance: As breeding material, centipedes should be intact without broken limbs or damaged body segments. Their color should be bright and glossy, not rough and dull. They should meet the species-specific characteristics requirements. For example, the specific characteristics of the less-spiny centipede are: adult length of about 11 cm, head and first body segment dorsum are golden yellow, walking legs are yellow, and there are only 2-3 spines on the tail leg. When introducing less-spiny centipedes, individuals meeting these characteristics should be selected. Additionally, individuals with darker heads and walking legs approaching red should be chosen because they better meet medicinal requirements. The age of breeding centipedes is preferably four years old, entering adulthood, i.e., reproductive age. During the breeding season, it should be possible to see the obvious swelling of the abdomen of female centipedes.
4. Age identification of breeder centipedes:
Identifying the age of centipedes is also very important for selecting breeds because the most suitable reproduction stage for centipedes is the first litter. Too young centipedes have not reached sexual maturity and cannot lay eggs. Too old centipedes may have already reproduced one or two litters and no longer possess vigorous reproductive power. Therefore, choosing breeder centipedes must involve learning to identify their age. To date, the age of centipedes can only be identified based on body length. Therefore, before introducing centipedes, it is necessary to understand the relationship between the growth and development age and body length and weight of the species to be introduced. Based on measured body length data, the age can be estimated. Each type of centipede has its own corresponding relationship data between age and body length. For example, under normal growth conditions, the body length of less-spiny centipedes is 5 cm at one year old, 7 cm at two years old, 9 cm at three years old, 11 cm at four years old, 12 cm at five years old, and 13 cm at six years old. Four-year-old centipedes are adult centipedes with reproductive capabilities; therefore, the body length of introduced less-spiny centipedes should ideally reach around 12 cm.
