Our reporter (Guo Xiaofeng of the Yanzhao Metropolis Daily, intern Chou Chen) At 2:32 AM on December 9th, a fire suddenly broke out in a bungalow within the old Beijiao village in Xinhua District. After the incident, the Xinhua "110" No.5 patrol police arrived quickly and helped Lingling (a pseudonym), the tenant, to extinguish the fire in time. The police learned that in the early hours of that night, Lingling's ex-boyfriend Xiaogang (a pseudonym) had visited twice, proposing to restore their romantic relationship but was rejected.

According to Wang Qiang of the Xinhua Patrol Police, when they arrived at the scene after receiving the alarm at around midnight that day, the doorframe and door curtain of the house on fire were already burning. They quickly helped Lingling, the tenant, to put out the fire. This fire did not spread indoors, so the damage was minimal.

The patrol police learned that Lingling has been working in Shijiazhuang for many years. Early this year, through friends, she met Xiaogang, a fellow townsman also working in Shijiazhuang, and they started a romantic relationship. However, after three months of dating, due to incompatible personalities, they ended their relationship. But because they were from the same hometown, they still maintained a normal friendship. Lingling also found a new boyfriend. Xiaogang repeatedly approached Lingling, hoping to re-establish their romantic relationship, but Lingling politely declined each time.

Lingling said that at 00:30 AM on the 9th, after dining with friends, Xiaogang came to her rented place and once again proposed restoring their romantic relationship. She refused again and told Xiaogang it was very late and she had to work the next day, so he reluctantly left. Around 2:00 AM, Xiaogang came back and was turned away by Lingling. Afterward, Xiaogang outside the door became silent. Not long after Lingling lay down again, she felt something was wrong. She realized that a large amount of smoke was filling the room, making it impossible to breathe. After getting up and checking, she found a large fire outside the door and promptly called the police.

Wang Qiang stated that through the analysis of various situations at the scene, this fire was very likely an act of deliberate retaliation. Currently, the police are conducting further investigations into the case.
