Our reporter (reporter Wang Qiushi) - After being discharged from the army, Lin Mou, who was once a special reconnaissance soldier, had a bad mood. After taking drugs, he experienced hallucinations and showed his physical prowess by climbing up to the 8th floor of a building by hand and breaking into an elderly stranger's home, causing alarm. Yesterday, the Miyun court sentenced Lin Mou for the crime of illegal intrusion into a residence. Due to receiving forgiveness from the victim, he was sentenced to six months in prison.
At 9:30 yesterday morning, Lin Mou, 28 years old, was brought to the courtroom. Having served as a special reconnaissance soldier, he was tall and appeared very strong. According to his own account, after being discharged from the military, due to setbacks in life, "to vent the frustration in my heart," he started taking drugs. This time, he came to Beijing from Anhui to visit his comrades-in-arms. At 8 p.m. on June 17, after consuming methamphetamine that he carried with him at a bar, he went to a residential area in Miyun to find a friend. Under the influence of drugs, Lin Mou was already disoriented. He climbed up to an empty room on the 8th floor of the building by hand and entered through the window, where he slept for the night. The next morning, Lin Mou woke up and experienced hallucinations, feeling that someone was chasing him. In panic, he jumped from the window on the 8th floor into the home of a seventy-year-old couple, Bu Mou. Bu Mou and his wife were startled and injured their feet while fleeing, which was later determined by a forensic doctor to be a minor injury.
On the same day, Lin Mou prepared to escape from the 7th floor window but was mistaken by residents downstairs for attempting suicide. This alarmed the public security and fire departments, who used a fire ladder to rescue him.
The court ruled in its judgment that Lin Mou illegally intruded into another person's residence, causing serious consequences resulting in minor injuries, severely affecting citizens' normal lives and residential safety. His actions constituted the crime of illegal intrusion into a residence. However, considering his good attitude towards confession and repentance, the court decided to impose a lighter punishment on him.
Bu Mou and his wife, who were startled, are both retired officials. They did not attend the court session yesterday and refused media interviews, but they submitted a statement to the court expressing forgiveness for Lin Mou, stating "not pursuing his responsibility, giving the young man a chance to reform." The couple also stated that they would not require Lin Mou to compensate for the medical expenses related to their foot injuries.
"I have made a mistake, so I will accept legal punishment, and I thank the victims for giving me this opportunity." After hearing the content of the statement, Lin Mou expressed acceptance of the verdict in court.
