Qingdao, September 5th - Due to the hardships of life leading to nihilistic thoughts, they decided to end their lives by being sentenced to death after killing someone who "looked pretty arrogant." Recently, the Licang District People's Procuratorate of Qingdao City has legally approved the arrest of suspects Yuan and Wang, who were responsible for two consecutive murders in Qingdao.
Yuan is from Jilin City, Jilin Province. His parents divorced, and he lived with his father. He met Wang, from Zhengyang County, Henan Province, while working in Shanghai. Wang also comes from a broken family and lived with his father. The two quickly became close friends due to their similar family backgrounds and personalities. However, meager incomes and the difficulties of life led both of them to develop a disdain for the world. During an accidental phone conversation, Yuan expressed his disappointment with life and his desire to leave this world to Wang. Wang empathized deeply and confessed the same feelings to Yuan. After discussion, both decided against committing suicide and instead agreed to end their lives by being sentenced to death after killing others. They specifically decided to target those who "looked pretty arrogant," as both detested such people, feeling that they were no good.
After fulfilling Wang's final wish to visit his grandparents who raised him and see the sea one last time, they purchased two daggers. On the evening of July 27, 2009, around 9 pm, they went to the Lichun Pedestrian Street in Licang District, Qingdao, and publicly burned all the remaining 700 yuan RMB they had on them. Then, lighting two cigarettes, each took a few puffs before stopping a young man who didn't suit their liking and stabbing him more than ten times, causing his death. They then stopped another young man who didn't suit their liking and stabbed him more than ten times, also causing his death. This resulted in the shocking "July 27" intentional homicide case. After the killings, they turned themselves in at the Eighth People's Hospital of Qingdao's police reporting point.
