According to officers from the Criminal Investigation Team of the Wangyi Branch of the Tongchuan Public Security Bureau, at around 1 a.m. on August 27, a young woman wandered off in anger after arguing with her boyfriend and was abducted by Song at a street corner and raped under the Datong Bridge. After committing the crime, the audacious Song forced the victim to reveal her phone number. At noon on September 1, the brazen Song contacted the victim by phone, asking to meet her at the gate of the City Hospital on Jiankang Road in the old district, saying he wanted to befriend her. Having endured enough, the victim reported it to the police. At around 1 p.m., at the "date" location, after being identified by the victim, Song was apprehended by the police.
Upon investigation, Song, aged 36, from Wangyi Township of Wangyi District, had primary school education and was unemployed. In 1991, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison for raping a minor. Currently, Song has been criminally detained.
