At 9:18 am on April 25, 2005, in Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, a high-speed train, while traveling through a right-hand curve with a radius of 300 meters, derailed due to excessive speed, crashing into an apartment building beside the railway. The accident resulted in the complete destruction of the first and second carriages, leaving 106 people dead and 562 injured.
