Deceiving住宿Registration: One Person Detained

Xinhua News Agency (Intern Reporter Wang Cong) - In order to obtain a visa extension for foreigners, an individual went to a police station to fraudulently acquire accommodation registration. Yesterday, the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau's Exit-Entry Administration disclosed that Cui, the head of a intermediary agency, has been administratively detained by the police.

Recently, Lee from a country in East Asia applied for a visa extension at the Exit-Entry Administration of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau. When the police officers were verifying Lee's documents, they found that the accommodation registration showed that Lee was residing in a community in Wangjing, Chaoyang District. However, property management and the landlord stated that Lee had not been living at this address.

The police learned that in early August, Lee had entrusted a proxy company to handle the visa extension procedures. Cui, the head of the intermediary company, fabricated the fact that Lee was residing in the Wangjing area, using a forged house lease contract to fraudulently acquire accommodation registration at the police station.

Currently, Cui has been administratively detained for 10 days by the Chaoyang Public Security Bureau. The involved foreign national has been given a deadline by the police to leave the country.
