Our news (reported by Hu Xiao): Tian is a habitual thief who rents an apartment for his mistress despite having no income, resorting to stealing motorcycles and selling them for money to pay the rent. The People's Procuratorate of Kaixian County recently prosecuted Tian for theft.

He drove away with the keys still in the ignition

Tian, aged 32, is a farmer from Changsha Town, Kaixian County. He was sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment twice before for theft, and was released from prison in March 2007 after serving his sentence.

After being punished, Tian did not reform. On the morning of December 13 last year, while wandering on the street, Tian saw a motorcycle parked in front of a store with its key still in the ignition. Seeing no one around, he quietly started the engine and rode the motorcycle home. On December 17, Tian sold the motorcycle to Wang from the same town for 1000 yuan. After appraisal, the stolen motorcycle was valued at 2310 yuan.

Stealing cars to support his mistress

After being arrested, Tian admitted that the main reason for this theft was to support his mistress. By the end of last year, Tian, already a married man, had an affair with a woman in Yuxi Town nearby, and rented an apartment there to hide his mistress. Originally unemployed and struggling to make ends meet, the enormous living expenses after keeping a mistress made it even harder for him to breathe. Therefore, he kept looking for opportunities everywhere, constantly thinking about stealing motorcycles to sell for money, in order to cover the cost of supporting his mistress.
