Our staff reports that Xia's audacity was "outrageous".
He brazenly walked into the boss's office while the boss of a shoe factory was in the restroom and stole a laptop. This scene was captured by the surveillance camera. After leaving the scene, realizing that the owner might report the theft to the police, he curiously returned to the crime scene to see how the public security authorities would solve the case.
Yesterday, it was learned from the Huangyou Police Station in Wenzhou that Xia has been criminally detained.
Mr. Wu, a citizen of Wenzhou, runs his shoe factory on Nan Mountain Road, Oupu, Huanglong Street, Wenzhou City.
At 6:10 PM on October 29, Mr. Wu left his office due to an urgent need. When he returned to his office five minutes later, he found that the laptop on his desk was gone.
"Besides the duty security guard at the factory gate, I also tied a dog outside my office door. Could the computer have flown away?" Mr. Wu remembered the surveillance and upon checking the surveillance footage, he discovered that there had been a thief in his office.
The surveillance footage showed that at around 6:11 PM that evening, a man boldly entered the factory through the main gate, stayed for a few seconds in the workshop, then turned and entered Mr. Wu's office. Twenty seconds later, when the man left Mr. Wu's office, his abdomen appeared significantly larger.
Mr. Wu believed that this man had concealed the computer under his outer clothing around his abdomen.
After receiving Mr. Wu's report, the officers from the Huangyou Police Station immediately arrived at the scene. After reviewing the surveillance footage, the officers formed a clear impression of the suspect's clothing and appearance.
Subsequently, the officers and Mr. Wu went to the factory gate. At this point, they noticed that about 20 meters from the crime scene, outside a certain noodle shop, stood a young man who looked extremely similar to the man in the surveillance footage.
This man was quickly intercepted by the police. It was understood that the man's surname was Xia, he was from Hubei Province, and he was born in 1976.
After being questioned by the police, Xia confessed to the theft. He said that after stealing the computer, thinking that the owner might report the incident to the police, he curiously ran back to the scene to see how the public security authorities would solve the case.
