E Jing Chu Net message (Chu Tian Metropolis Daily) (special correspondent Du Qing, correspondent Ye Dingli, Yuan Hua, Zhi Yue) The much-anticipated real estate developer Li's coerced murder case has made new progress. The Provincial Higher People's Court made the final review ruling: the entire case maintains the original verdict. Yesterday, the final review ruling was delivered to the parties involved in the case.

According to the original Xiangyang Intermediate People's Court verdict: Li, who was charged with intentional homicide, was exempted from criminal punishment. While defendants Li Sitong, Shen Xiaoqun, and Deng Hu, for the purpose of making money, intentionally killed two people by direct and threatening means. Their actions constitute the crime of intentional homicide. Their criminal methods were especially cruel, their criminal circumstances especially heinous, and their criminal consequences especially severe. They deserve severe punishment. Therefore, Li Sitong and Shen Xiaoqun were sentenced to death, with political rights deprived for life; Deng Hu was sentenced to life imprisonment, with political rights deprived for life.

After the original trial verdict, the three criminals Li Sitong, Shen Xiaoqun, and Deng Hu all appealed. One common reason for their appeal was: there was no premeditation or planning beforehand, and the original verdict's sentencing was too heavy.

In response to the appellants' reasons for appeal, the defense counsel's defense opinions, and the procuratorial organs' opinions, the Provincial Higher People's Court made a comprehensive evaluation based on the facts and evidence of this case: the appeals of the three severely sentenced criminals are all unfounded.

It was also introduced that the identities of the two innocent victims, vagrant wanderers, remain unknown to this day.
