Microsoft Abandons Vista, Moves Towards Win 7

From the current signs, Microsoft may have decided to abandon its market promotion strategy for the Windows Vista operating system and focus on guiding existing business users to directly upgrade from Windows XP to the new operating system, Windows 7, scheduled for release in 2010.

Nichols believes that from a technical perspective, Vista is by no means a successful product. First, Vista consumes a very high amount of system resources; second, application software often crashes; third, Vista's security isn't as good as Microsoft claims. Nichols stated that these three shortcomings of Vista are well known, and even the supporters of Vista are aware of them but just don't want to admit it publicly.
