At a crossroads while waiting for the red light, a bread van had a minor scrape with a motorcycle. Just as driver Mr. Zhang was about to take out his phone to report the incident (zzfhhxy369_Baidu Space), three men from the motorcycle surrounded him, punching and kicking Mr. Zhang, and stabbed him with a knife. On the evening of the 25th, a tragic scene unfolded at the Paile Tower in Xinchjian County. Currently, the injured person is still in critical condition.
The面包van driver met with a calamity
Yesterday morning, I saw the injured Mr. Zhang in a hospital ward in Nanchang. He looked pale and appeared exhausted.
Recalling the incident, Mr. Zhang recounted weakly that he and his wife were driving the bread van home when they encountered a red light at the crossroads in Paile Tower, Xinchjian County. When the green light turned on, he signaled to turn into a parking area near a supermarket. "As I was turning, a motorcycle suddenly passed by my car, lightly bumping into my bread van, causing the motorcycle to fall over." Mr. Zhang said that subsequently, the three men on the motorcycle asked him to get out of the car.
Mr. Zhang thought it was a normal traffic accident, so he called the "122" emergency number. Unexpectedly, the three men became angry upon seeing Mr. Zhang making a call, shouting: "You dare to call the police?" They then surrounded Mr. Zhang, punching and kicking him. Mr. Zhang ran, but the three chased after him. "After they beat me to the ground, one of them stabbed me in the back," Mr. Zhang told reporters. Afterwards, the attackers rode off on their motorcycle.
Mr. Zhang's wife Ms. Xie stated that she is pregnant and during the incident, she stayed hidden in the car, not daring to approach. It wasn't until the police arrived at the scene that Ms. Xie went to the nearby Xinchjian County People's Hospital to find her husband.
Taxi refused to help
"After the assailants fled the scene, I realized that the wound on my back was deep, and blood kept gushing out. So, I held onto the wound and tried to quickly seek medical help at the hospital," according to Mr. Zhang's recollection. After being stabbed, he flagged down a taxi, hoping the driver would take him to the Xinchjian County People's Hospital. However, the taxi driver, seeing the blood flowing from Mr. Zhang's wound, refused to take him to the hospital, claiming that the blood would dirty the seats. "After I got into the taxi, the driver refused to drive. Unable to wait any longer, I opened the door and jogged all the way to the hospital myself," Mr. Zhang said. Although he held onto the wound with his hand, the blood continued to drip, leaving a trail of blood for dozens of meters. Due to delayed treatment and excessive blood loss, Mr. Zhang was immediately taken to the emergency room upon arrival at the hospital. Later, due to limited medical facilities, Mr. Zhang was transferred from the Xinchjian County People's Hospital to a hospital in Nanchang City for further treatment at around 9 p.m. on the 25th.
The victim has not yet escaped life-threatening danger
"We have performed a closed drainage surgery on him to help drain the blood from his chest cavity, but currently, he has not yet escaped life-threatening danger," said Dr. Chen who is responsible for Mr. Zhang's treatment. Mr. Zhang has multiple external injuries, but the most serious injury is the stab wound to his back.
"It doesn't make sense. The car wasn't damaged much, and no one was really hurt. This was supposed to be a minor traffic accident. Besides, my bread van is insured, so compensation should have been straightforward. I never expected them to resort to violence, even using knives," Mr. Zhang said. Especially after seeing him call the police, the other party became more emotionally agitated. "I suspect it might be a case of 'insurance fraud,' where they initially intended to extort money from me, and when that didn't work, they resorted to physical violence." Mr. Zhang stated that he has already reported his doubts to the police. Currently, officers from the Changlou Police Station in Xinchjian County are intensifying their investigation into this matter.
