Two-year-old Boy Taken Away by Mother on Birthday
On the day of his two-year-old son's birthday, it turned out to be the day they parted. Zhou Jiayi, who lost his wife and child six months ago, still cannot understand what caused his wife to hastily take their son away on his birthday, never to return. He is very worried about his son’s condition: "My son was suffering from hand-foot-mouth disease at that time, I don't know how he is now. I am really worried that they have been deceived."
That day, his wife left in a great hurry.
The family of three lived in Dongpu Town, Guangzhou. Zhou Jiayi's wife, Li Sihua, worked outside, while Zhou Jiayi took care of their son, Zhou Yangziwei, at home. "My son is very clean and handsome! And he is taller than most children of his age. He can speak Cantonese," recalled Zhou Jiayi. His wife, Li Sihua, around 20 years old, was from Lufeng County in Guangdong Province. She knew a little Cantonese, was also fair-skinned, 155 cm tall, and had long hair when she left.
August 3, 2010, was Zhou Yangziwei's second birthday. Zhou Jiayi recalled that on that morning, Li Sihua, who usually did not take care of their son, "abnormally" woke up early to bathe and prepare breakfast for him. He thought his wife wanted to take their son out to play, so he didn’t think much of it and got up late. Unexpectedly, after leaving home with their son at around seven in the morning, his wife never returned home again.
"At the time, I really thought she was just taking our son out to play, but once she left, she never came back." Zhou Jiayi sighed over the phone, "I can't figure out why she did this, without any warning. There were no arguments or fights before she left." Zhou Jiayi's mother was also puzzled: "My daughter-in-law often told others that I treated her well, and there was no conflict between us. I don't know why she left."
Zhou Jiayi recalled that on that day, his wife left in "great haste," "our son was not even fully awake, didn't wear pants, or shoes." Later, Zhou Jiayi learned that Li Sihua had retrieved 4000 yuan from one of his debtors under his name before leaving, indicating that she seemed to have "planned it ahead."
Husband Claims Family Was Always Harmonious
When Zhou Jiayi realized that his wife was not just taking their son out to play but had "run away" with him, he tried calling Li Sihua again, only to find that her phone was already disconnected. For six months, he has not received a single call from Li Sihua, but she has called her parents to report safety. However, her relatives refused to tell him about her current situation.
According to Zhou Jiayi's mother's recollection, Li Sihua's brother once revealed that on the afternoon of August 3, Li Sihua sent him a text message saying that she had taken the child and wanted to learn independence, taking care of the child herself. During this time, she never returned to her parents' home but continued working as a clothing seller in Guangzhou, with the child attending kindergarten.
"Our family has always been harmonious. Even if we had arguments or misunderstandings before, the child's mother should not use the child as leverage!" Zhou Jiayi is very worried about his son's condition: "My son was suffering from hand-foot-mouth disease at that time, I don't know how he is now. I am really worried that they have been deceived."
For six months, Zhou Jiayi has not given up searching for Li Sihua and his son. Every day, he misses his son deeply and wants to say to him: "Weiwei, where are you? Dad really misses you. Dad bought a new car and is waiting for you to come back so I can drive you around, okay?"
