Chongqing - (Reporter Qiu Zhu, Correspondent Zhang Yongqi) Yesterday, I learned from the Municipal Public Security Bureau that on December 9th, drug-related person surnamed Liao from Kaixian County had hallucinations after consuming crystal methamphetamine for two consecutive days. He believed that someone was out to harm him and called the Narcotics Control Team for help. Under the persuasion of the anti-drug police, Mr. Liao surrendered himself voluntarily in Nanchuan District, and the police gave him a lighter punishment, sentencing him to 10 days of administrative detention.
At around 1 p.m. on December 9th, the Narcotics Control Team of the Municipal Public Security Bureau received a plea for help. The caller identified himself as Mr. Liao, a resident of Kaixian, who was invited by an online friend with great enthusiasm to meet in Nanchuan on the 7th. That night, he consumed crystal methamphetamine through oral inhalation inside the rented accommodation of his online friend. After two consecutive days of using crystal meth, he felt that someone was trying to harm him, so he sought help from the police.
After receiving the call, the officers of the Narcotics Control Team asked detailed questions about the incident. Upon investigation, it was found that Mr. Liao had a previous record of drug use. Despite multiple attempts at rehabilitation, he could not resist the temptation of idle social acquaintances and relapsed into drug use. On December 7th, he went to Nanchuan at the invitation of an online friend and succumbed to the lure of drugs. Due to excessive consumption of crystal meth, Mr. Liao experienced hallucinations, believing that his bag had been tampered with and possibly contained hidden drugs. He suspected that someone was trying to frame him. After a fierce internal struggle, Mr. Liao reached out to the Narcotics Control Team for help, requesting that the police come to pick him up.
Under the persuasion of the anti-drug police, in the afternoon of the same day, Mr. Liao turned himself in to the Nanchuan police voluntarily. The Nanchuan District Public Security Bureau sentenced him to 10 days of administrative detention as a lighter punishment.
