Covering Report of Huaxi Metropolis Daily (reported by Zhang Yunjiao): Just because of 5 yuan, Ziyang man Chen Mou killed another person. After fleeing under an assumed name for 7 years, Chen was unexpectedly caught by the police after being involved in a public security case elsewhere. The day before yesterday, the Yanjiang District People's Procuratorate of Ziyang City approved the arrest of Chen Mou.

At noon on November 30, 2003, Chen Mou, who lived in Yanjiang District, went to a restaurant with his friend Xu Jun (a pseudonym) and two other people for lunch. Before eating, the four of them agreed that they would pay the bill on an "AA system", with each person contributing 5 yuan. Since Chen did not have money on him, after the meal he borrowed 10 yuan from a familiar neighbor and paid 5 yuan to the boss.

But when it was Xu Jun's turn to pay, he just sat there without moving. "Why aren't you paying?" Chen questioned Xu Jun, but Xu continued eating without acknowledging Chen, which made Chen extremely angry: "We clearly had an agreement, I who had no money still paid, why won't you who has money pay?"

Xu Jun showed no intention of paying the bill, and Chen became increasingly furious. He picked up a kitchen knife and slashed Xu Jun's neck, causing Xu Jun to bleed profusely.

Chen himself did not expect that his hand would be so heavy. He was frightened by what he saw and quickly dropped the knife and fled the scene.

Xu Jun was sent to the hospital but died after unsuccessful resuscitation attempts. After committing the crime, Chen forged an ID card, changed his name to "Zhang Hong", and fled to places like Chengdu and Xinjiang to hide.

On July 28 this year, Chen was involved in a local public security case in Xinjiang and was arrested by the police. After investigation by the local police, it was confirmed that he was the suspect Chen Mou who had been on the run for 7 years after committing murder, and thus handed him over to the Ziyang police for further investigation.
