In view of the development of history and the rise and fall of enterprises, we find that there are three different levels of true enterprise development.

First level: People managing people

This is the most primitive and basic management method. This kind of management does not rely on forms such as management systems for constraints, but rather uses simple rules and direct person-to-person management. This method is mainly used in small enterprises or family workshop-style businesses and plays a certain role in the early stages of business growth. In these enterprises, unclear rules and regulations exist, and employees are connected by familial ties, friendship, or simple promises within internal relationships. Traditional Chinese family-style small enterprises are typical representatives of this management method. Additionally, in an enterprise where multi-headed management or overstepping management is particularly serious, or where management is especially chaotic, it also falls under this level of management.

Second level: Systems standardizing people

When enterprises that rely on people managing people want to grow further, they will discover that relying solely on familial ties and friendships is far from enough. To achieve standardized growth, enterprises must establish a set of clear rules and regulations internally, using them to standardize and constrain everyone. Within such enterprises, there are clear rules and regulations, and all work is strictly carried out according to these rules. The rules and regulations become the link between people. Compared to the method of people managing people, this is a more advanced management model. Many medium and small-sized enterprises today are at this level of management.

Third level: Corporate culture leading people

People are emotional beings and are also changeable and have multiple needs. Rigid and cold rules and regulations can standardize behavior, but they cannot fundamentally solve issues related to people's thoughts and concepts, nor can they bind people's minds. Differences in thinking, conflicts in viewpoints, and subtle changes in the soul may all affect the implementation of the system. When the system fails to constrain or has flaws, people may secretly violate the system, or even openly defy it. The more serious such incidents occur, the greater the hindrance to the development of the enterprise. The enterprise might stagnate or even regress. How to break through this obstacle and get out of this dilemma? People will think: If we can make all employees form a common value concept and corporate spirit, making them gain recognition from the heart and fundamental transformation, wouldn't this problem be solved? If this effect can be formed, it essentially constitutes excellent corporate culture.

Corporate culture is the aggregation of many advantageous resources of an enterprise. It represents the humanistic essence and comprehensive quality of an enterprise. Corporate culture reflects the business philosophy, corporate spirit, brand strategy, corporate image, as well as the value concepts, behavioral standards, and moral views of employees. In modern society, corporate culture has become a new management science. It is a management method centered on people, characterized by soft factors and soft constraints, which is easier for people to accept compared to policies, laws, regulations, and rigid constraints.

Corporate culture has strong centripetal force, attracting outstanding talents and advantageous resources into the enterprise, thereby enabling the enterprise to grow stronger. Enterprises without excellent corporate culture are like having scattered hearts.

Corporate culture possesses powerful synergy. Common values and corporate concepts among employees allow them to form a unified force, eliminating some frictions and side effects in normal circumstances, thus forming a powerful synergy within the enterprise. Enterprises without corporate culture are like ships in the ocean without direction, where winds from any direction are adverse. On the other hand, enterprises with excellent corporate culture are like fully powered ships racing towards a predetermined destination.

We find that corporate culture essentially elevates from material things to spiritual things, transforming from material management to spiritual management, promoting enterprise development with higher spiritual awareness. Therefore, for an enterprise to grow to a higher level, it must form excellent corporate culture and lead people with excellent corporate culture.

Corporate culture can become the core competitiveness of enterprise development. Promoting enterprise development with excellent corporate culture is the highest level of enterprise development.
